We would rate this a 5 star compared to other pet friendly inns/hotels we've stayed at near Doggie Beach. The staff was very accommodating, the fees for pets is exceptional, the room was excellent, and we will definitely stay there again, and refer it to our friends w/pets.
Always happy here!

We stay at this hotel every year. The location of the hotel is perfect for beach goers. The rooms are always clean and the staff is always very nice and helpful. Each year we notice more upgrades. We have been coming to San Diego for 5 years and, although there are other hotels around, we won't stay anywhere else!

We wanted to spend a summer eve without kids at the beach, where no one would bug us, somewhere away from the crowds and the bars, where we could just enjoy each other.
We were lucky to find one room left at the Ocean Villa Inn, as we now call it our happy place. The receptionist was SO nice, and they have snacks in the lobby, loaner books and dog treats. I was very very very pet friendly. And as the majority of guests were pet owners, there was not alot of noise and partying that we heard. Our room had a great view of the Seaworld fireworks.
The room was clean, comfortable and it had a microwave and coffee service in the room. It was a nice size room and we loved that it had a balcony. Parking was available."

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. I especially liked that We could walk everywhere we wanted to go. The Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was nice and warm, and the continental breakfast was pretty good. We enjoyed the view from the room and the fridge and microwave were useful too. The room was small but okay. There were lots of dogs at the hotel, but they were pretty quiet.
We'll go back again when we want to play at the beach.

When visiting San Diego with my 2 dogs (medium/large in size), my number 1 choice for a hotel is Ocean Beach's "Ocean Villa Inn". The motel is clean and the grounds have a great assortment of cactus, succulents and plants from around the world. The rooms are large and comfortable with nice views. The staff members are always pleasant and very helpful with any and all reasonable requests from guests. Every morning, they serve a variety of good food at the continental breakfast, which is kept stocked during the alloted hours. Just around the corner from the motel is "doggy beach", which is the best leash-free beach i've ever been to, featuring lots and lots of friendly dogs and people...my dogs, as well as myself, absolutely love it. There are also several miles of wonderful paths along the water and wildlife refuge for people and dogs to walk/run, skate or ride your bike. Downtown O B (Ocean Beach) is a wonderful, easy walk from the motel and there are great restaurants and shops everywhere, some within a block or two. If you're heading for the San Diego area with (or without) the furry members of your family, i would highly recommend this place...see you on the beach!!!
