Great place to stay in Banff

We booked this hotel through the travel website's "deals" for a very low price (around $40 more per night after taking out the cost of our flight), and it turned out to be a fantastic place to stay. It's relatively close to Banff's restaurants and shopping areas (about 3-4 blocks away), the staff is very friendly and helpful here, and the room was very clean and accommodating to skiers with lots of gear. My wife and I stayed in one of the loft rooms, and I would highly recommend this room because of the fireplace and roomy downstairs area to go with the spacious loft bedroom. The heated tiles were nice too! Great place for the money, esp. when booked as a package deal.

Royal Canadian Delta Hotel (travelocity screwd up the reservation)

We had reservations through online travel website to stay at Charlton Cedar Court. online travel website canceled our reservation without our knowledge, Have proof of this. Be VERY careful when booking through online travel website. We were taken care of by the hotel even though they were sold out. They gave us a room at their sister property Delta hotel Royal Canadian. It is a step up from Charlton but they gave us the same rate as online travel website canceled and we had a wonderful time. Very clean, luxury room, mineral pool and hot tub. It was great. If you use online travel website I would call the hotel to confirm but first ask for their direct rate before booking through online travel website as most of the time that will be cheaper.

Charlton's Cedar Court is only a couple blocks further from downtown Banff than more expensive hotels and has great rooms for a reasonable price. If you want amenities like a hotel restaurant, you have to visit their sister hotel a couple doors away - but that wasn't what we were there for. It's still an easy walk to downtown, and it's actually easier to get into/out of town to other area attractions from a little further away. Room had a small fridge and a huge bathroom with separate tub and shower. Great value in an expensive area - I would definitely go there again.

"We had a loft room, which was quite lovely. The room had a gas fire place and king sized bed. The hotel is in a very good location on the main Avenue walking distance from all the stores; also close to many of the ski resorts. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. The hotel also has a nice indoor pool and Ski storage is available. Rooms have a pretty good view of mountains but hotel is only 3 stories and surrounding hotels partially block view."

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The rooms were spacious and the heated tile floors were great. One draw back was that you had to go outside to get to the indoor pool (fine for summer, cold for the winter). Would definitly stay here again.
