Wonderful stay in Portland

This was my first stay at the Monaco and it won't be my last, everything that one could expect from a 4 star hotel is awaiting you. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable, although the one I was in could use some new wallpaper everything was in good working order and clean. The views from the upper floors are pretty nice, the room temp is easily controlled in the room. They have a very nice fitness center and the location in downtown is central to everywhere I wanted to go.

This hotel is terrific! The loaction is great. The complimentary wine and beer in the classy lobby was a nice touch. We would definitely stay there again.
Fifth Avenue Suites

A great place to stay to explore downtown Portland. Everything major is within walking distance, and the Trimax is a block away. Staff was helpful but laid-back; rooms were nice and roomy.

Our room had an overpowering perfume smell, was on the same floor as banquet rooms, and had a lovely view of a dumpster. Asked to be moved, but told hotel was full. No way to confirm if that was true.

The best thing I can say about the hotel is exceptional service! Stayed in a one bedroom suite with 2 double beds for 2 nights. The room is exactly as pictured on websites and the beds where comfortable. But the carpeting in the room I stayed in shows its age. First time staying in a hotel room where I actually bought slippers to wear inside the room. Couldn't feel padding between the carpet and flooring. Plus parts of the carpet felt wet on first night's stay. The 2nd night wore the bought slippers.
