Nice historical place

Nice historical hotel. Could have better TV and free internet access. I would enjoy if it had smal refrigerator and microwave in the room or at lease in every story available.

Biltmore Hotel - A Classic

When you stay at the Biltmore you are going back into history. The hotel is well-maintained and the architecural details inside the main lobby are exceptional. The hotel has a great bar with wood carvings and stone work with sculptures that go back to a by-gone era. The hotel has several good restaurants, and is located a short walk from a number of LA's best restaurants downtown. The location is excellent if you are doing business in various parts of downtown LA. The hotel has a good fitness facility, and the service is friendly and helpful. the room decor is nice, but slightly dated and could use an upgrade, although it has character. Parking in the hotel is very expensive, but the Pershing Square parking garage across the street offers parking for $14 per day. This is a fine great old hotel, and one of the better values in downtown LA.

4 days at the Biltmore

stayed here for business per a deal I got on this site for a 4 day stay that averaged about $130/night and so figured I would give it a shot. Overall the hotel is nice and has some very unique architecture given the fact it was built in 1923. As suspected for a hotel this age the rooms are older but do have character and 9" ceilings. If you want a new plasma TV with granite tops in the bathroom then these are not the rooms for you. They have a nice fitness center and pool, better than many other upscale hotels I have stayed at. People here mentioned the rip off parking at $40/day so my tip is to park right behind the hotel at the Pershing Square lot (owned by city of LA) for only $14 per day. Of course you do not get in/out priviliges but works well if you do not have to drive anywhere for the day. Additionally at this lot is the Metro subway line which can be ridden for $1.25 one way and as an example is just 15 min up to Hollywood.

Living History

Beautiful hotel, full of history. I could almost imagine the Hollywood royalty of years past walking in the lobby. The room was small, but clean and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows felt as if they were made of rocks. Next time I'll bring my own and avoid the headache. Parking was WAY overpriced, yet we felt we should tip the valet everytime we picked up our car, ouch!
