Very mediocre for this price range

It was a busy holiday weekend so when we had to wait through the check-in line twice, it wasn't a big surprise. We were there over an hour after check-in though. When the unfriendly eastern European girl finally found us a room (2 hours later), she somehow neglected to give the bell desk our luggage tags like she said she would. We called after an hour and they were quick to bring our bags. Next day someone neglected to leave hand towels and washcloths. Business center requires pay for any use whatsoever. In my travels, that generally happens at the cheaper places. In the end, this was somewhat typical of what I have experienced at other Intercontinentals. I will avoid them in the future. There are plenty of better options in the 200-400 range. Very mediocre in my opinion. Location is great though!

Great Hotel/Great Location

I stayed at this hotel during the "Taste of Chicago." The location was great. It was a short walk to Grant Park and the "Taste". It was also a short walk to many others sites of interest in the downtown area. The pool area was quite beautiful and you should visit it to check out the unique architecture, even if you do not plan on swimming. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. I would stay here again and would highly recommend it to anybody.

Expected more

The hotel itself was not bad. The location was great and the room for the most part was good (executive suite). However, the room that I was given was on a lower floor with a terrible view (of the side street below and an alley way). With the funds I spent on the room, I expected more. One of the chairs had a tear in it which really was not a big deal. The pull out couch was not very comfortable...the mattress was very, very thin and you could feel the springs. However, the master bedroom bed was very comfortable. Overall, it was a good hotel. If I were to go to Chicago again, I would probably stay at another hotel that also offers suites and maybe better views of the city.

Fabulous location and safe hotel

I stayed there 4 times in less than a year and thought I might try an upgrade 1 night. They would not accomodate me. I was a little dissappointed in that. I do and will stay again but the price is a little high especially for the valet parking when it is when you come and upon leaving you have to get your own car. for 48.00.HIGHEST in the city parking.

AWESOME

I usually dont write reviews, but this hotel was that good. Celebrated my 30th birthday here with my best friend from high school and our husbands. From the moment we got out of the cab we were treated with top-notch service. EVERYONE was super friendly and helpful. The gentlemen who checked us in even upgraded us to the historic building on the 27th floor for no extra charge when I told him we were here to celebrate my birthday. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The room was a great size and the bathroom was huge(for a hotel room). The bed itself was worth staying there. By far the best night sleep at a hotel I have ever had. The location was great too. Close to everything. We didnt use the pool but we did check it out and it was very nice and clean. Overall we had a WONDERFUL weekend and we will absolutely stay here again. PS get tickets to see WICKED it was phenominal:):)
