Motel not Resort with sweatbox bedroom

Maybe this place works in the Winter, but not in the summer.
The room (I think 164) looked good at first. You entered through the bedroom, then there was a walkthrough kitchen with bathroom to the right, and a living room with a balcony. A good first impression. The room was hot, but of course the air conditioner was off. So we turned it on. After awhile we called the front desk and asked for a fan, to try to get some air circulation to the bedroom. The fan was delivered to the room very quickly. The air conditioner was out in the living room and didn't cool down the bedroom. We never did figure out a way to move cool air back into the bedroom. The fan blowing the hot air around helped, but we couldn't get it to circulate with the cool air in the living room... Several other folks along the hall had propped open their bedroom door to the common hallway, to get airflow - but I wasn't comfortable with that.
Other less bothersome problems were the lack of an inside lock, the lack of a room safe, the ashtray on the deck (gross me out - this was a non-smoking room), the whirlpool tub being so narrow as to be strictly a one person affair, the air conditioner being so loud it was hard to hear the TV that cut off the weather report information while displaying the non-wide-screen format station in wide-screen mode, and the free internet being via the adjacent resort's WiFi.
Perhaps if a kitchen were important to me, it would have seemed a better place.

The resort is a little dated but well mentained. Clean rooms, new furniture and it even had a fire place.

Fabulous, clean comfortable executive rooms with parking right by our door. The only disappointment was that the whirlpool didn't work in our bathroom. We stayed 2 nights and it still wasn't fixed when we left and no explanation was given when we asked both days.
Good location and a very nice room for the price.

We were more than happy with the resort and the staff. We would stay at this resort again if our travels took us back to Banff.
unhappy here and rundown

Where do I startt.
This hotel was rundown. The outside was chipping. they tried some renovations inside but they were very poorly done. The housekeeping was terrible. We had to keep asking for soap and toilet paper that we had run out of. They did not notice themselves. They were supposed to clean everything every 3 days if you stayed longer than 5 days. We were there for 8 nights and I finally had to ask them to vacumn because it was never done. They never cleanied the bathrooms. We did get clean towels, We had trouble with the sliding door to the balcony,(it didn't slide) the screen fell out. the oven did not work. It took 3 days and 3 phone calls to have a light fixed on the stairwell to the loft. There was only 1 llight in the the bedroom and it reallly needed more. Only 4 hangers for 2 people.
The kitchen was terrible. One ratty skillet and 2 pots and a teakettl;e that I would not let my dog drink water out of, I would not reccommend this place for any money.
