Island is great. Hotel needs updating.

I really like the island, will go back. The two room suite was old, outdated and felt dirty. My issue was the dirty part. Carpet felt dirty and needs to be replaced. The room (suites) I was told was independently owned and the hotel should see to it to update carpet, fixtures and have a better cleaning crew. Someone spilled chips in the hall on saturday around 4pm and they were not cleaned up until late sunday morning.

I decided to stay in one of the condos on the beach and it was worth it! I had space to spread out and relax. This is a great place for families too! The service was great, and the food was delicious. I would definitely stay here for my next vacation.

The Radisson Resort South Padre Island has excellent service, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Even though this was a business trip - my stay was very delightful. Live entertainment every evening, good food in the restaurant and a fantastic room. The sleep number beds were an added bonus.. Very well worth your money.

Bad esperience

I realize that Radisson doesn't own the condos they rent at this facility. However, i can only hold them responsible for this disaster. I reserved a two Bdrm condo months in advance. Upon check-in I was assigned to, I believe, #4123. There was a hole in the bathroom wall big enough for a cat to walk through; the carpet was frayed and coming apart at every seam; the paint was off the wall and had been patched with a different color; and the furniture was shabby. I complained and complained to the night staff (around (9;30PM)before I was finally moved to #4126. The carpet there was not so bad but was still frayed at the seams and lumpy. The furniture was even more disappointing and very sparse and outdated. The place was only almost clean --NOT ACTUALLY CLEAN. Based on these two condos the place needs a complete makeover. Radisson and the condo owners should be ashamed of these units.

Awful stay for the Money

I foundfound myself with my wife in South Padre, Texas the weekend of Sept. 15th. I am writing to tell you about our miserable experience at this hotel. (More motel actually) We decided to stay at the Radisson for the last two nights of our stay in South Padre because we thought the hotel looked a little classier than others. Being $60 more a night, also assumed a bit more lavish surroundings awaited us. We couldn't have been more wrong. As I entered, the rustic door wouldn't open until I leaned aagainst it. Neither light switch worked at the entrance. When my wife went to blow dry her hair, the dryer did not work, nor the outlet which held the dryer. The outlet's themselves did not hold plugs and our cords continued to slip out of the sockets (computer, lamp, dryer, phone charger). The TV's preset indicators were all wrong (a channel saying ESPN was TNT, for example) with no guide available on screeen or in the room. CBS, the only channel I wished to watch, came in fuzzy. The on screen check in did not work, the bathroom floor had hairs. We could hear people talking in the room next door all day and night. The rooms are more like motels. Awful experience.
