Description: Have you ever been in or near sleeping in a circus?
I never. But when I arrived Circus Circus Hotel in Reno, I thought, now I'm going to experience it.
Actually, this hotel on the main street of Reno, which is Virginia Street. But that is the entrance to the Circus Circus casino. At the back, in a parallel street is the entrance of the hotel. Coming from the highway you can already see a big tower. Then it is to look for the entrance.
Parking
As with most hotels in Reno, here's valet parking. You give your car keys to a guy and you get a yellow card back. But first, your bags are loaded on a cart and another guy says, call me when you have room. Then we bring the stuff to the room. Parking is free. Though of course you know these guys have to live on tips they receive. I find it a perfect system.
The reception
By automatic sliding doors you go inside and you enter an immense space. Right is the entrance to the casino and the left is a tourist information desk. Here you can book trips and car hire.
Before you is the very long reception desk. The reservation had arrived and after filling out some information, we got the key and a booklet with coupons. That we could later use in the various restaurants and casino. Looking to our room. We took the elevator. There are six lifts at the front desk with a nice voice that warns you when you're at the place of destination.
The room
We got a room on the sixth floor. Fortunately not too far away. For example in the Virginia Tower, you have 38 floors. The card worked a bit stiff, but suddenly the green light and the door opened. You enter a spacious room with two double beds. On the wall hung pictures of circus. The curtains of the room, are of a curtain at the entrance to the arena of the circus. Nicely made. The chairs have a handrail that proposes a kind of balloon. Again a special detail. At the table is the information about the hotel and a match box with the ad text Circus Circus. You can not smoke or have smoking rooms. There is a great TV present, including a channel of information about the hotel. Furthermore there are coffee and tea making facilities and a room safe. At least twice a day the rooms are inspected and maintained. Fine though. Also striking is that the rooms are not much sound to pass through. It's pretty quiet. And beautiful in the desert "the air conditioning.
The bathroom
The bathroom has a bath / shower, toilet and sink. In the basin are the nice little shampoo and conditioners ready. Wonderful perfumes. The radius of the shower is nice and powerful. It looks clean groomed .. Oh the shower curtain is decorated with balloons and made into a ring shape, as in the arena of a circus.
Restaurant
There are six different restaurants at the hotel, but those are on the first floor behind the casino. There is a sort of balustrade corridor into a circle. In the middle look down and see the play area for children, a sort of fair and you see the red velvet of the entrance to a real circus. On this boulevard of restaurants of a barbecue restaurant to a sushi bar. Some restaurants are open 24 hours. That's an obvious point, there's 24 hours a day doing anything in this hotel.
Attractions
Beyond the usual amenities of a hotel, including a gym and a swimming pool, this hotel has a real circus with various acts. You can show at different times, be free. And I can tell you they have top artists.
The shuttle train is also nice. You get a view of the surroundings and you realize how big this hotel really is. It is a train without a driver (sounds crazy huh) running along the building via a rail going. A sort of monorail. A trip of seven minutes in total and it takes visitors to the wing where they stay.
But the most important that people come here is of course the casino. On weekends the hotel is overbooked. I do not recommend the weekend to get here, because then you pay the price for a double room.
Price
Really for the price you do not leave the hotel. We had a special rate of 40 dollars per night. (But not on weekends).
Disabled
America is well set to disabled. Everywhere facilities installed. From adapted toilets to parking and taxiways.
My opinion
A great hotel for a great price. Friendly staff and plenty of entertainment in the hotel itself. And I'm not talking just about the casino. The circus skills class. It is busy, but the size of the hotel, you do not notice it. Here you can safely spend a few days.
