Awesome hotel at a awesome price...........

We needed to get away from our town for a little bit. So we decided to drive down with our kids to Faribault.We checked into this hotel Select Inn. The staff was great and showed respect and treated us very nicely.And not just us but all the other customers we treated respectfully too, Now that is where i got the positive vibe about this hotel.The room was very nice and comfortable. After looking at the prior reviews we weren't sure about this hotel and its dirty pool. BUt when we looked at its pool we were amazed how much change took place. The pool was just recently re-painted and looked awesome. The pool room was ok but they were painting the walls in there too. Dosen't look like it's all-the-way done but i had a good-feeling about it.And the breakfast was really nice too.All this comfort and personal treatment at a cheap price, its hard to find both the points togeather.But i think this hotel was a excellent value of the price paid. Next time we have days off we would like to make this hotel as our vacation spot.

This hotel ran out of hot water the second morning we were there and we weren't able to take showers, or prepare a bottle for our infant. The pool was green, and had way too much chlorine in it. There was something growing on the edge of it as well. The bathrooms in our rooms were the size of a closet! The staff was okay to work with but a bit grouchy at times.
The place stinks

On top of a breeze from a nearby pig farm, we were stuck in a smelling smoking room even though we had reserved nonsmoking. Trash everywhere. Noisy trucks everywhere. Back door was propped open with overfull garbage can as late as 11 pm so anyone could have and did just walk on in. I moved the can and closed the door but an hour later it was propped back open. Noisy hyperactive children tore up and down the halls all night. If it was cheap I'd have overlooked some of this. By the way I am not a complainer type, I can tolerate a lot. But not this place again.

"My family of 5 stayed here on our way to and from North Dakota. The rooms smelled fresh and were clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the beds were comfortable. It appears the place is old, so maintainance will be important to furnishings and structure in order to maintain a good rating from guests."

Economy rates,Very nice, clean, quite,safe and most of all very friendly staff. If I'm in the area I will not go to any other hotels, I will only stay at Select Inn in Faribault. Why I pay double or tripal to the big name fancy hotels.
