Close to Old Boston

Modern and updated, great location a few blocks from the Museum of Science, a few blocks from the Green Line subway. All rooms have a view towards the Charles river, some towards Boston others to the East. Big LCD TV, nice clean rooms, could not have been better. Concierge helped with how to get where, when to go, free vouchers for sightseeing boats through the locks and up the Charles River, along Harvard and MIT shores. Evening sunset boatride was great. Free ice cream 5-8pm, just a taste was great touch. Hotel restaurant was a little pricey, but the hotel was across the street from a mall which has a good food court if you are not into restaurants all the time and want a quick bite. $15 buys a 7 day pass to the subway which goes all over the touristy areas. Could not have a better location for the price, and a quality hotel - clean, maidservice was thorough, hotel was upscale and modern. King size bed was great, room size was very good, but small bathroom, shower, no tub. Mini bar had lock, and did not even want the key. Lots of amenities, exercise room, free bikes for 2 hours, pool, hot tub but did not have time to use any of them - too many things to do in 5 days outside of the hotel.

We stayed over the Boston Marathon Weekend. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a river view room which was a nice view of the river and downtown Boston. We enjoyed the room and the comfortable bed. We did hear a lot of hallway noise and we were placed near the elevator which added to the conversations we heard through the door. The bathroom was tight. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was Great and answered our every question and pointed us in the right directions. Easy walk to the Green line T- station and a big walk to MIT and Sceince Museum. Oh yeah, plenty of food and shopping across the street at the Cambridge Mall.

The restaurant for breakfast and lunch in the hotel was exceptionally good. I don't think I have ever had a better omlet. The formal dining room has a good reputation but we didn't use it. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. There was no heat in our room but it was fixed very soon after we reported it. The art work all over the hotel was a nice touch and out of the ordinary.

Breakfast at the Art Bar is a culinary delight after working out in the spacious exercise facility. The swimming pool has designated areas for lap swimming, and for family fun. The staff is gracious, my room overlooking the Charles River was wonderful. Why go anywhere else?

Travel agency actually means "we are greedy so we used a small spaces near the elevator as rooms". But wait, once you agree to pay a premium for a quiet night sleep, you find out that: * Cigarette smoke is coming through the vent to the bathroom. * The shower head is broken. * Periods of scalding water, when you shower. * Staff does not take good care of you, even though you paid a lot to stay in their hotel. I've visited a total of 3 rooms in this hotel only to find out they were all were not right for the price they asked for them: noisy, smelly/stuffy, broken, small ... Stay away and save your money!
