BUSINESS FREINDLY

Everything I expected and needed for an efficient business trip. No walking thru a Casino to get to your room! The staff exceeds any expectations in freindliness and helpfulness, they are exceptional. Breakfast was fine, coffee good, only negative of the inn is that there is no food service other than breakfast. The strip is a 10 minute New York pace away by foot. Fast food available across the street, In and OUt burgers surprisingly good, convenience store next door. In a town that caters to emptying your pockets quickly, this Inn is an Oasis of sanity. Would highly recommend to business people. Only five minutes from the airport. Also, the hotel shuttle will drop you just about anywhere!

I have stayed at many Hampton Inn locations for business travel, and I was a little disappointed in the Hampton Inn Tropicana. One of the managers were friendly (I forgot his name), but the rest made me feel as if I were a burden. The business center was not adequate enough to be at a "business" hotel- only two computers and you have to pay for fax (I paid over $9 to send a fax) and copies. The hotel offers shuttle service to the strip- which is an unorganized mess. I waited for over an hour, and everytime I asked where the shuttle was, the response was "should be 15-20mins, just keep waiting". I asked where to wait, and they said- "oh, anywhere". I was left twice without so much as an apology or attempt to make it right. The rooms, however, were clean and comfortable- the housekeeping staff is on their game. Overall, not awful, but certainly less than I expected. I will not plan on staying at this hotel again.

A Welcome Oasis in an Overloaded City

A great place to stay when doing business in the city. I was attending a conference at the Mandalay Bay and was looking to stay in a non-gaming / non-resort hotel. The excess of the Strip is too much for me. The Hampton Inn was perfect. They even provided a free shuttle to the Strip and every morning I waited no more than 5 minutes to get a ride to the conference. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. High speed internet access was easy to connect to. Wired access is available. The exercise room needs to be reconfigured. The one tv was accessible by anyone lifting weights but not by anybody on the cardio machines. THe cardio machines could stand to be upgraded to something more substantial. The only thing I really thought the hotel lacked was an in-room safe. Being Vegas, I'm sure folks may have a little more cash with them than they normally do. Also, not having to go to the front desk to leave my laptop every morning would have been nice. If you are looking to avoid gambling be forewarned that there are video poker machines at this property.
