The individuals at the front desk was very helpful when it came to checking into the hotel and answering questions about the hotel's amenities. The doormen were also very helpful by telling us directions. The room was and bathroom were very clean. Four stars for the fluffy towels and crisp sheets. The hotel was very pet friendly. Our two dogs were happy to be with us on vacation. The Radisson Martinique on Broadway was very close to the Polish Embassy. It was also a short subway stop away from Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. We would definitely stay there again.
Neat from a historical perspective

This is a hotel from the turn of the century which fell into such ruin during the 1970s and 1980s that the City of New York rented the rooms to house its homeless families. It was bought by a developer in the mid 1990s but took him some time to find a partner willing to raise it from its disgrace. Holiday Inn joined him in the project and subsequently sold it to the Radisson chain (never a favorite of mine). It's old with charming narrow winding corridors that reflect its being two buildings joined in the distant past to make one large hotel. It has a lovely spiral staircase and a cozy (translate small but workable) lobby. I liked it for its history and its restaurant. The staff were polite enough but inefficient. I had to search for a working ice machine over a couple of floors. All in all, I enjoyed my stay although I think it helped that I was willing to maintain my sense of humor. Don't expect much but the chance to stay in a lovely old historical building.

I thought the hotel was pretty nice. This was my 1st trip to New york. I was warned the the hotel rooms are very small and quite expensive especially during the holiday season.
The room was nothing much. we were given complimentary breakfast coupons. This was fantastic as we were on the go all day and the wonderful breakfast carried us through until dinner. We also appreciated he champge reception each evening in the lobby. The restaurant was decent and very nice and convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful. Having the subway right outside the door was also a plus!
This hotel is NOTHING like how they advertise!

While the location is amazing (one block from penn station and within blocks of amazing shopping and entertainment) I would never stay at this hotel again! The original room they placed me in was HORRIBLE and nothing seemed to work. The clock, phone and shower didnt work. The paint was either chipping or was splatterd on other items. The tv was very outdated and the chanel changer didnt work. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and although it is not a big deal.... the decor was extremely out dated.
After I demanded another room I was surprised that it was better. However the only problem was that after paying $4 for a soda out of the dirty and outdated refreshment center I discoverd that it was not even refrigerated! When I called the front office about this they did nothing and they did not even apologize. Also, since it is the middle of winter I would have enjoyed a warm room.... of course the heater never went above 62 and I walked around my room in sweatpants and a hooded sweatshirt with the hood on!
Also, for anyone who enjoys working out, the gym was a bit shabby. It looks nothing like the photos that are posted!! In fact most of this hotel looks absolutly NOTHING like how they advertise.
I will NEVER stay here again and I highly suggest that you do not either. Unless of course you enjoy rude customer service, dirty bathrooms, outdated decor, trash in the hallways, room heat that simply does not exist and wireless internet service that does not work.
