The hotel is in rennovations & not near done! Needs lot of work yet. Also, they did not have us booked by online travel website ; charged our Visa, but when brought to the desk helpers attention, he called online travel website & straightened it out for us.

After reading the previous reviews, I was wondering if my choice was a good one but after staying at this hotel I'm really wondering what others were thinking.
Both my husband and I thought this hotel was better then many other two star hotels that we've been too. The king size bed was very comfortable and so where the pillows. The free wi-fi was a bonus for my husband since he lines to play online games sometimes when we travel.
They have a continental breakfast and also have frozen pizzas and a pizza oven available for purchase if you need a late night snack. A Perkins was right next to the hotel and I walked there one night to have a quick dinner. There are several other restaurants close by too.
Our room had both a small microwave and a small frig which was nice for any left overs that we had during our stay. The only thing I noticed that was missing that most other rooms have was an iron and ironing board. Their upgraded rooms may have these though.
This hotel also has 'theme' rooms, but we did not spend time in one of these. I would definitely stay here again.
Construct a ten-foot high barbed wire fence around this motel.

Upon arrival we found the hotel to be in the process of renovation with a work crew on a platform directly over the entranceway, and a warning sign 'Watch for Falling Objects'.
The crew stopped working around 8:30pm so no sleep was interrupted by their noise.
Located near a residential neighborhood teenaged kids were 'playing' in the parking lot and asking us for cigarettes (we don't smoke) and calling us names when we returned from sightseeing approximately 8:00pm. I think one of them threw a stone/small rock in our direction.
I told the desk clerk & he said 'don't worry about it', but I did worry about the safety of our car in the parking lot that night.
The desk clerk was fairly pleasant and the room was pretty clean (except the bathroom tile was black with mold so we skipped taking a shower)
The clerk gave us a % off meal coupon for Perkins restaurant which was conveniently located right next door.
There was an 'Otis Spunkmeyer' cookie-making machine, and a waffle iron located in the breakfast area (the desk clerk stated neither was working) so in reality, the continental breakfast was limited to coffee, tea, juice, bagel, toast. Hardly enough to prevent us from having to pay extra at the local MacDonalds in order to eat something substantial before hitting the road.
All in all, for $* total cost it was a mediocre experience.

Property and rooms in serious need of renovation. Staff was indifferent. There are many other hotel choices in this area.
