Great Place to Stay

I would rate this hotel/motel as one of the best in this price range. My room was spacious and very clean. Bed comfort was comparable to that of a luxury hotel. It is conveniently located near the interstate (yet quiet), a large shopping mall with many restaurants, and a bus stop for Madison Metro. There was no coffee machine in the room but I could get free coffee in the lobby. I would definitely go back to this place in the future.
Definitely worth the price

I was fairly impressed with the staff and services provided. Very kind and genuinely helpful staff. The issues regarding housekeeping could easily be resolved by just informing the front desk of when you are leaving so they can gauge when to come in and clean. If you don't want them knocking on your door early in the morning, just place the privacy card on the outside of the door. Basic cable is provided. Free USA today newspaper. No free Wi-fi internet services, but you can purchase a 7-day prepaid tmobile hotspot internet card for about $20. There's an IHOP, Perkins, and Japanese restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Texas Roadhouse, Pot Belly, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Panera and the Mall are across the street (albeit they're separated by a very busy intersection). One of the issues that I had was the "soft water" when taking a shower. It left my skin feeling slimy, but I guess it's to prevent skin drying. Also, I was concerned with the safety/location of my room. Not enough lighting in the parking lot, esp. being on the back end of the hotel. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, and I can't complain for the value that I'm paying for my stay. I will stay there again for future business trips.
Great for a low-cost overnight stay

We needed a place to stay overnight on our travels for college campus visits. This hotel offered a discount through an online travel agency, and turned out to be a great deal for the price. The check-in was quick, place was clean, and quiet. It is close to so many restaurants it was hard to chose. Check out was extremely fast also.
I am happy

The Red Roof Inn was in a nice neighborhood in Madisons east side. So easy to get to from I94. Room was very cost friendly. Bathroom could have been a little cleaner. No big deal. I will stay there again when I am passing through Madison.

This was a wonderful hotel for the price. It was a little hard to find since they are tucked away between a few other hotels and Yahoo Maps was off on the directions, but we were able to call the front desk & they talked us right in. The service was wonderful, and the room was great. We're bargain hunters & would rather stay in a moderately priced hotel for a couple extra days instead of an expensive one for fewer days, and this definitely exceeded our expectations. They also had a great complimentary coffee / latte machine in the lobby!!!
