Very good for me

I stayed from Oct 26-28, 2008. The hotel was very close to where my business meetings were being held, which was the most significant factor in my choosing the hotel. In contrast to some of the other reviews I read here, I found the hotel to be clean and the staff to be friendly and helpful. My room was on the small side but adequate for a single traveler. I found the bed comfortable and had no problem with the wireless network. There was one slight wording problem in the internet connection instructions in what site a person should go to after establishing the connection. Hint: go to after choosing the wireless network. There were some obvious indicators that this is a heavily renovated hotel, but they did not bother me. Close to Penn Station and the subway system. I understand the neighborhood has been cleaned up greatly over recent years. The Tick Tock diner that is connected to the hotel provides good breakfasts at a reasonable price.

The rooms were recently renovated and updated. We loved the LCD HDTV for the little amount of time we were in the room. The room was a little small and could only accommodate a full size bed which is my only real complaint about the property. The hotel is a gem from another era and had great art deco architecture that made it a great out of the ordinary hotel that would I normally stay at.
The location of the hotel is great. Since it was right across from Penn Station our transportation was covered. We took the NJ Transit train to and from Newark Airport and all of the subway lines go through the area so we were the hub to all points in NYC. This proximity alone saved us a lot of money on cab rides we didn't need to take.

I took my son for his 18th B-day! I was pleased with the room, service, and location. I noticed everyone walking towards the elevator needed room key"good security". I walked alone to eat, shop and meet up with friends in Times Square. I was super happy with this Hotel.
TIPS~ buy Metro Card, and take the Double Decker hop on & off tour. we even took sub to JFK Airport very smooth and super easy.
Will come back

We had a great stay at his hotel for our first trip to NYC. I honestly wasn't expecting a lot. Our room was much bigger then expected. We had 2 bathrooms, a living area with a fridge and a nice balcony, and a separate bedroom. The room was clean and comfortable. Even though they were renovating at the time, it was not noisy. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great. Close to Penn station/MSG. Short walk to everything else we wanted to see. Can't wait to go back and will stay here again.
