Got a Saturday night reservation for $*/night at 730PM on that Saturday after Thanksgiving. In downtown Seattle area too....what a Seattle bargain for a quick get-away!

Cold Room, Inexpensive rates

If you can stomache a 60 degree room [it did eventually heat up with the hot water running and the bathroom door open]; at least the last minute same day book/check-in rate was $* off and $*a night at the University district with free parking is cheap.

This hotel is dilapidated

I attended a conference at Univ. of Washington nearby Aug 3 - 6 2008 and the 'conference rate' at this hotel was $--$ above the regular rate I now see for this hotel in Sept. 2008. The hotel was dirty, furniture beat up, shower floor dirty (no tub!!), fixture rusty, towels and sheets thin and insubstantial, room small, no iron (I had to sign one out! and go to the desk to fetch it). The blanket on my bed was filthy and was falling apart (I asked for another and they delivered it ASAP). Two weeks later I stayed stayed in Le Nouveau Hotel in Montreal for $ more per night--and it was gorgeous and in a beautiful downtown location. This Travelodge is beat up. The manager refunded 10% of my room rate--not enough to make me ever visit a Travelodge again. RL

Good value

If you want a good value, this is it. Rates were very good. Location is about 10 minutes from downtown and near the University of Washington, there's a major shopping mall directly across the street (plenty of places to eat). The hotel is out dated but clean and comfortable. There's a pool and jacuzzi, and some rooms are suites (sort of like apartments with seperate living rooms and bedrooms, living room and kitchen with dining room and patio). Overall a good value.

Bad experience

Stayed here while attending family wedding. This place is awful. It appears clean at first glance, but is not. Maintenance is very bad. Room doors are probably not solid and are splintering. Poor lighting in room. No irons in room and no full-size ironing board available through housekeeping. Security doors to outside are left propped open. A stranger entered our friends' room due to a key error at front desk. Pool and spa are not filtered adequately and are dirty. We couldn't use them. They charge you for the safe in room whether you use it or not. Other family members reserved suites with kitchens and these rooms were worse than the sleeping rooms. Greasy kitchen and utensils. We paid $118 per night. We will never stay here again, and probably not at any Travelodge after this experience.
