This hotel was in a GREAT location (3 minutes walk to Notre Dame) and was nice. It was not the smallest room I've ever stayed in but it was small (fits 2 people comfortably). Bathroom is a good size and clean (note: there are no shower doors or a shower curtain...just a small pane of glass covering about 1/2 the shower so the bathroom floor gets very wet). The bed was satisfactory; nothing great but not horrible either. You do hear some noise (hallways, alleys etc.) but I'm not a light sleeper so it didn't bother me much. The elevator fits two people plus luggage; very small (but it made for some funny pictures). Staff is friendly and all seem to speak English. The hotel provided a map upon check-in. The continental breakfast is not included and is 12 Euros (too expenisve for me), I preferred picking up a croissant or a pan au chocolate at any of the nearby patisseries. This was my first trip to Paris and this hotel helped it be a great one! Plus, I got engaged so that made it extra special!
Abbatial Saint Germain Offers a Superb Left Bank Location

The Abbatial Saint Germain Hotel has some small rooms, but they are well-kept. With large windows that open for the ambiance of the city or close tightly to seal out the street noise, it's an excellent choice for those who don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room, but instead choose to actively explore classic Paris. A modest breakfast features plenty of good coffee, tea and orange juice, croissants, fruit, yogurt and scrambled eggs.
The outstanding location on an active street in the heart of the Left Bank puts some of the city's very best attractions within easy walking distance, including the Latin Quarter, Saint Germain des Pres, Notre Dame and the Louvre. In a four-night stay, we never boarded the metro at all, which is unusual -- but that is just how much is available within walking distance of the Abbatial Saint Germain Hotel. Rates are reasonable for the location.

Excellent location. The room we stayed in was small, like most of the rooms in the center of Paris. Ask for a bigger room, they have those. If you are in Paris to see Paris not to hang out at the hotel room this is the best place for the money. The stuff was very polite and accommodating. The place was clean.

Location was very close to Notre Dame which gives one a good starting point to sight see. Close to a feeder metro, about a 15 minute walk to a major station. The more you pay the bigger the room. So choose wisely. Breakfast was too pricey, small grocery stores nearby if you need to get snacks or something for the road. Lots of restaurants nearby. Overall a good hotel.
