This was a nice hotel in a quiet location close to the gondola. It seems like a good place for families, if you take a suite or something else that it bigger than this lodge room. The lodge room appeared to be a great value, but watch out. The room is very simple: no coffee machine, no fridge, no microwave, no chair or table. There is an iron and ironing board, but who needs that on vacation? The bathtub is only for people with good balance, since the sliding door leaves little space. A simple shower curtain would not have looked as nice but been more convenient. Restaurants are a bit away, so it makes much more sense to take one of the bigger rooms in this Lodge and eat in the apartment than to go out. Note that there is a nice free parking garage next to the gondola.

very nice hotel and very clean. we were on vacation in the "off season" so there were'nt to many people staying in the hotel. we did have some slight problems with little things breaking or falling off such as handles and such. they did offer to fix it right away or move to another room but we told them it was'nt that big of a deal since we only used the room to sleep in. very nice staff and very helpful. we got snowed in and couldn't get the car up the hill to the free parking so they waived the parking exept for the first night. which was fine, we highly recommend oasis spa located in telluride next to fat alley bbq very nice and professional we had two 90min sessions back to back with no problems. very lovely no chain stores or resteruants. wonderful town people and very pet friendly. they do have free rides to town via gandola or bus which isnt a long ride but very nice for picture taking! we were on a budget vacation so we chose the basic lodge which was nice and cosy but still a great size. overall very pleased and will be visitng again maybe this summer. front desk personel was very informative on what and were to go for us including maps of town and good places to eat and visit. if you would like to use the sauna i think could be a lil tricky since its not connected to the hotel rooms via hallway or inclosed walkways so you will have to walk outside and around to the room in the weather.
Mountain Lodge worth checking out.

We went to Telluride to "crash plan" my son's wedding that is 4 months away! We only had 1 1/2 days to do it. Everywhere we went in Telluride, the locals told us to check out Mountain Lodge and talk to the concierge. As luck would have it, that's where we were staying! The Lodge and buildings are awesome, views stunning, and the staff is very welcoming and professional. The concierge was very helpful, as we had been told he would be. By the time we left, we had just about all the info we needed to plan the wedding. We are excited about staying at The Mountain Lodge for my son's upcoming wedding. We will be having the reception in our 4 bdr. cabin. For the planning trip, we stayed in a lodge room, their smallest, which although very clean and attractive, it has no extra room for luggage. I would suggest using it as an adjoining room to one of their other upgrade accommodations. Definitely worth checking out
in between seasons

This hotel was very nice and a welcome treat in Telluride. I was impressed with the staff and how eager they were to be service. We hit it in between seasons (summer/fall) so there were not many other guests. The bar was not open which would have been a plus, but with snow on the ground, a workout room, and hot tub, we quickly forgot about the bar. A quick room upgrade suggestion from the front desk made the entire weekend very memorable. I would definitely stay there again. If you go in the snow season, make sure to have a vehicle that can make it up the incline when you park in the spaces provided. It could be a challenge after a storm.

I stayed here 2 nights as part of a bicycle tour of the Rockies. This is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous place. We had a deluxe double cabin that included a kitchen/dining room/ sitting room. All appliances were high end and modern. The balcony had a spectacular view. The suite was clean and comfortable. There was easy access to the gondola into Telluride. A convience store/grocery was nearby. Evem the pool had a great alpine view.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was a great value for the money.
