As a last resort...

The staff was very friendly, however I would not stay here again. There is no A/C so we had to sleep with the window open but it was very noisy. Luckily the hotel provides you with ear plugs. I would only stay here again if I made last minute plans and this hotel was the cheapest, which is why we stayed here in the first place. Also, the location wasn't too bad either if you are trying to be near the Castro.

THIS HOTEL IS NOT FIT FOR PEOPLE

This Renior Hotel of S.F. was really bad. It is the worst place I have ever had to lay my head! The bed was a spring, the carpet was fility(real bad), the hallways and room smell of mold and dirt. Please do youself a favor and dont even try this hotel. The manager has bad customer service so you can guess what most of the staff is like. They even charge you for a little cup of coffee or tea, because a pot is not provided for you in your room. This hotel is advertised as a three star hotel , my rating is less than a half star.

Good rate, good location, no frills

We got a really good rate at the Renoir, staff was friendly and helpful, room was basic but clean and overall this was a very good value. Nice little restaurant attached to the hotel with good variety of breakfast options. Important to know: Valet Parking costs $30.00. Also, they charge $9.99 per day for WIFI in the rooms. We will stay her again.

The website offered a pretty decent description of this hotel, turned out to not be true. I'm not very picky about where I stay as long as it's clean. This hotel is very old and hasn't been updated in what seemed since the day it was constructed. Carpets wreaked with bad smell. Bathroom door had trouble closing, paint coming off the bathtub. Mattresses were old and sank in when u laid down, plus there was someone else's hair on my comforter and sheets (gross!). Spend your money elsewhere!

Not impressed....

The package i paid for was for a room with a Queen or King or 2 Double Beds. Instead we got a room, or actually a box, that had 2 twin beds. I called to complain but they said they were sold out that weekend and couldn't change the room. The area around the hotel was riddled with homeless people and very creepy at night time. There was no heat in our room, so they sent up a space heater that looked like it was from 1978. Then at one point our fuse blew in our room when we were getting ready to go out and all the lights and outlets were out for about 10 minutes. I found a bug in my bed on 2 different days. Thank god we didn't pay full price which apparently was $* per night because that would've added insult to injury. Overall not a very good experience at all. Next time we won't be staying in the Civic Center area of San Francisco and will venture to a more pleasing area.
