I go skiing in Stowe once a year and always stay at the Northern Lights. Al the owner is definately inviting and accommodating and the location on the mountain can't be beat for the price. This is a budget hotel,. nothing fancy, but generally clean. the breakfast buffet is hearty and the hot cider and cookies when you return from skiing is a nice touch.
There are alot of common areas for sitting by the fireplace, haing a fw drinks or playing games. I would recommend this place for people with kids or large groups of friends.
Indoor pool areas are tough every where with the smell of the chlorine and mold issues, and this place is no exception. The jacuzzi is ok, I wish there was one outdoors. But, you can not beat the price. There was a recnovation done 2 years ago, and hopefully that will continue.
Its not fancy or modern, but is a great place to crash after a long day of skiing.
