We thought this was a great hotel until we found bedbugs in the morning!! What was most disturbing was that after notifying the front desk, they did not seem to care at all..The infestation was very heavy ..YUK!! Will not stay again because they did nothing to remediate the situation, not even an apology!!
We stayed here while visiting Duke Medical Center. Very convenient to Duke.

Stayed here for husband's hospital stay at UNC for 1 night. Next night stayed at Day's Inn and it was much nicer. The room was dirty. It was supposed to be non-smoking, but it was so smoky my eyes watered and my clothes smelled really smoky the next day. The coffee ran out early. There's no signage on how to get there. Hard to find off service road. Card key wouldn't open side door to the hall where my room was. Then, front desk told me you have to push the lever up to get in. Woops, they forgot to tell me that!
Great value, clean and pleasant!

My family and I were really impressed with this hotel. We had never stayed in a La Quinta before, and made our reservation at the last minute for a one night stay. We chose this hotel because the price was great and they accepted pets. The hotel was pretty and new-looking. The rooms were clean and had plenty of room. Although they allow pets, the rooms did not smell like dogs at all - which was a definite plus (although we traveled with a small dog, we are bothered by "doggie" smells.) The pool was really nice - a hot tub too. My husband and kids did comment that the chlorine in the pool was a little strong...but not a big deal. The breakfast was just right - everything we needed. The only problem at all during our stay was that we had trouble with the high-speed internet service, and the lobby staff did not seem overly eager to help. Aside from that, our stay was just great. If you are looking for a "luxury" hotel with full-services, you may want to look elsewhere, but if you are looking for a nice, clean hotel with a pretty lobby and rooms, and a nice pool for the kids, this is a great choice.

Front desk personnel does not seem very smart or able to help. Some days the newspaper doesn't show up. The free breakfast was a low point. When milk, yogurt and cream cheese are at room temperature, I get nervous. One lady found a bug in her Raisin Bran. The rooms are spacious & comfortable, with frig and microwave. It would be helpful if there was a sundry area to buy snacks, drinks, travel items since there is no store nearby. Walls are thin, but mattress is great.
