Stayed at this hotel for a week. We would have changed hotel but there was no avaliblity any where else due to American Junior Miss Pagent. The carpeting was very dirty, the tolet would not flush without holding the flush handle down until everything was gone. The shower and bath tub was dirty and the cap to the drain in the tub was always lose and not where it was suppose to be. They did supply us with enough towels and made are bed and empted trash every day. We would not recommend this place to anyone and will not stay there again.

Questionable Renovations...

As a person that has to travel often I was forced to stay at the Inn since everything else was booked in town. Yes, the location, is in a good setting next to the river but you have to look beyond the trash and debris littering the area to "imagine" how nice it could be. To go out on the river walk after dusk is not recommended. Upon approaching the building you get the feeling that the renovation just began today and it's a construction zone. Once inside, the first thing to grab you attention is not the 70s era decor but an overpowering smell I can only describes as an overabundence of cleaning compounds being used to mask the smokers residue. In tandum it's a strong stench that overpowers the senses. The rooms are ok enough but the overall smell and rundown appeance made me not want to unpack my bags. The staff was hit or miss with regard to customer service and the quiet location is another way of saying it's in the dilapidated section of town. I have to agree with the remainder of the reviews and am glad I only hd to stay there for two nights.

First of all they could not find our reservations. The rooms were not clean, I was so happy I only had to stay one night. Then come to find out they charged me for three rooms when I only had two. I will never stay here again!!

Hotel in need of repair

We will never stay at a Howard Johnson again. The air conditioning did not work. The fan in the bathroom did not work. Pool was suppose to be fixed by June 15 but was still down July 9. On the last day there it was open but filthy. We changed rooms after first night and that door going out the balcony was broke but was overall a little better room. Staff was very nice and friendly but hotel is in dier need of major repairs. Resteraunt was closed and they were fixing the roof.We had a three year old with us and went back to the room early to get a nap and the bed was stripped and it took over a half hour just to get someone from cleaning to make up the bed. I ended up getting the sheets and making it my self. I didn't mind doing it but I thought you didn't leave a room unless it was completed while cleaning.
