This is a gem of a hotel located right off of St. George Square in Glasgow. The hotel is located a short walking distance from Central Train station and only a half a block from Queen Street station. Our price included a fully cooked breakfast and access to the Executive lounge. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The overall decor of the building is very charming and traditional. The room was tastefully decorated in Scottish tartan colors, fine heavy drapes, and a wonderfully stocked bookcase that included a complimentary mini-bar plus decanters of one's favorite spirits. The bathroom was very spacious, clean, and well appointed. We only had two minor issues; one being that our room was on the second floor located on the street out front and the window would not shut so there was a little bit of a noise problem; the other issue was that the AC would not get that cold for our comfort. We may just be use to colder setting in the southeastern US! Otherwise everything else with our visit was perfect. The hotel is located very close to shopping, dining, and entertainment. All are within an easy walking distance of the property. The Executive lounge was very comfortable reminiscent of a traditional country club lounge with a wonderful selection of drinks and spirits. The top floor restaurant was great with its city top views. While we did not eat our dinners there our morning breakfasts were very good with an excellent selection of both hot and cold offerings. The overall value for this hotel was very good. We will be returning to this location to enjoy more of what it offers.
