Description: The Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in located in Indian Wells, adjacent to Palm Desert and about 15 minutes by car from Palm Springs. Its distance from Palm Springs pretty much necessitates a car, for which self-parking (available in parking lot and garage) is free.
The property is surrounded by golf courses and is adjacent to the Renaissance. First impressions was of a golfer's paradise in the desert, with a small water display outside of the front lobby to set you in the mood.
Front Desk staff were professional, and acknowledged my frequent guest status. We were assigned a large room with balcony overlooking the pool. The bathroom is large and brightly lit, with separate shower and bathtub. The room is "functionally" separated as the bedroom and the work/entertainment area. The bed was the Hyatt Grand bed which was comfortable to sleep on, however, the comforter was a bit thin. The room was equipped with an iPod dock/alarm clock, safe and refrigerator, and the decor was functional but not overly chic.
There are plenty of activities to do on site, including 5 tennis courts, several pools (one of the pool/Jacuzzi area is for adults only) and free mountain bike usage. The recreational pool was setup for water volleyball. The spa center next to the tennis courts provides a range of free services, including Jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna. Some of the facilities are in separate areas for men and women, and are only accessible through the appropriate change rooms. The spa center offers a relaxing ambiance, perfect for soaking away stress.
The Regency Club Lounge has a good selection of items for breakfast and hors dourve, with a computer for free Internet access.
Overall, it is a perfect hotel for a weekend getaway in the Palm Springs area, with plenty of things to do for men and women to relax, such as golfing and spa treatments.
