Needs updating and cleaning

Stayed for one night only. Remote control was out of batteries. First room smelled of cigarettes. Second room was dingy with fake plants and lots of dust catching swags and decorative shelves. The whole area around the frig/microwave was dirty. Linen on bed did not quite fit and was scratchy. Worst of all were three pillows which must have been made with turkey feathers! I was poked all night. AM breakfast was filled 00700 to 0930 so did not partake. Staff was nice . Overall the hotel needs lots of attention and updating.

Not located near any family, full-service restaurants.
Choice includes strip of in-town eateries (bad parking) or return to I-5 2 miles south to next exit or 8-10 miles north to Medford to access family chain restaurants such as Elmer's, Applebee's etc.
So-called "hot" breakfast buffet lacked ham 'n eggs service.
Motel itself is clean, well-kept, up to LaQuinta standards. Desk personnel VERY helpful.
PLUS: Free internet terminal.
Dingy and in need of updates

This hotel was dingy (at best) and really needs an update. The general state of the hotel is run down and all surfaces (carpet, vinyl, walls, hallways, chairs, tables, sinks, tubs & toilets) look as though they've been in use a bit too long. It was surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to I-5. It is close enough to Ashland, but not within walking distance of anything.
As it turns out the housekeeping staff is about to help us avert a family crisis by returning our 5 year old's teddy bear that was left behind. Thank you to X (at the front desk) and her daughter (in housekeeping)! :-)
Inexpensive with lots of benefits

We like to stay at this motel when we visit the Rogue Valley. It's pretty inexpensive - our rate for a basic room has been under $75 during the Shakespeare non-summer off-season. (You might phone because recently the on-line rates have been higher than if I'd phoned.) We figure we save a lot of money eating the great (for a motel) continental breakfast with fresh fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, waffles (fresh-cooked by the guest), pre-made microwavable egg omletes, boiled eggs, muffins, etc. Although there's a state tax (I think about 1%), since the motel is just outside the city limits, there's a savings of about 7% in city tax you won't find at most other motels. It's easy to find - fairly close to the freeway. The pool area with a hot tub is open 24 hours a day. Other extras are free in-room wireless Internet, an available Internet computer, late night office hours, and pets welcomed at no extra charge. I think the La Quinta Returns program builds up points fast and I'm looking forward to being able to earn a free night (especially using a free night during the more expensive summer months). It sounds like I'm the owner trying to pad the reviews, but we really like staying here for the good value.

They need spare treadmill key & the couch in room looked little old--few spiders in room-overall good size room with kitchennette. Person at desk not able to recommend local restaurants or tell us how to get to Shakespeare festival. lobby did have some local maps.
