Close to the Plaza area, friendly helpful staff. Free parking in the back or front, and good continental breakfast in the morning. clean good sized rooms.
North vs South

In case you've NEVER been to Kansas City (like me) - be aware that there is a NORTH and SOUTH. They are separated by the river. Anything with a N. in the address is on one side of the river. MAPQUEST IS WRONG about the location of this hotel!! DO NOT BELIEVE IT. There is no North in the address and therefore is across the river.
The lady who runs this hotel is very sweet. And the front desk people are nice. They were friendly, helpful and very courteous. That made my stay okay. The rooms are clean and the bed is nice and comfy. No complaints there. If you just need a place to crash - the value is good for the money.
I'm not sure what to think of the neighborhood though. I wouldn't want to walk around by myself nor would I bring my kids with me here to stay. I felt ok...but a bit nervous as well (mind you I'm a small town girl) The location is central to the Power Light district and some great restaurants.

Place smelled of pet droppings. Cancelled a reservation I also had for a future date. Better hotels for the money in the area.

This was not a good expierence at all. When checking in they could not change my room to one desired. After going to the room given it was obvious this room had been smoked in even though it was deemed a non-smoking room. After being in the room for a period the smoke residue was overwhelming and inquired for a air machine at front desk. They said they couldn't get too them and was unable. The next morning after waking with eye problems and throat soreness from heavy nicatine residue the worst was yet to come. Several cars in the front parking lot had broken windows from vandlism with mine being included.
The comment from the front desk was that they were not responsible.
Carpet was old, tape holding wallpaper up in parts of room and dead flys in window sill that obviously had been there for awhile. Bed linens were not the best with no coverings on bottom part of box springs or frame. Water stains on bottom of curtains. Other than all this it is a great place.

This is a pretty nice hotel. I had the opportunity to stay in K.C. several weeks at several hotels and this one was real good. The front desk staff were friendly and courteous. I would definately be a repeat customer to this hotel.
