St. Leonard's
Description: The Jurys Inn is a cheap hotel located in the city of Edinburgh. I had to book here last minute and was quite surprised with the price! For less than 60 pounds I could book a double standard room including breakfast. Now of course this is not a five star hotel and really a pretty basic hotel but as long as it had a bed I was happy with it!
The hotel has quite a central location with about five minutes walking from the main street in Edinburgh called Princess Street. Here you can find all the shops, nightlife and lots of restaurants. Also the large train station of Edinburgh Waverly is around five minutes walking so the hotel has a very central location.
After entering the room I put my stuff on the bed. This was a good bed and made no sound. When I looked around the room, I saw that the room was very well finished. It had a modern touch and more important it had air conditioning which is really nice especially since it was summer. The bed was double bed and have to say it was very comfortable. The bathroom had all what you can expect from a bathroom and had a nice large bath in it. The room as well as the bathroom looked both very clean. The housekeeping came in every morning to clean and they did a very good job. I noticed that the trash was very day cleaned up and they vacuum cleaned every day what you don’t see all the time.
After a good night sleeping it was time for breakfast. The breakfast was being served on the ground floor next to the area were the lounge and reception is. The breakfast was served in a large spacious room and it was a little bit busy at the time we went down. There was plenty of seats and we were welcomed by a staff member who took us to our table and asked if we wanted to have coffee or tea and within a few minutes we had a fresh can of coffee standing in front of us. The breakfast was served as a buffet which was a large selection of bread, rolls, eggs, sausages and lots more. There was also several soft drinks and orange juice. The staff was very polite and kept on refilling to make sure there was plenty.
We were very friendly welcomed and helped when the shower failed to work. Within minutes there was somebody at our room to help out. The hotel has a good location and within minutes away from the city centre. The room and especially the bed was perfect and also the breakfast was very good! I can recommend this hotel especially for the price!
