We informed the desk that our room was not cooling down on our first day, the young fellow that answered our call told us we were better off just opening the window and it would cool right down. On the 3rd (last day) as we were getting ready to leave we bumped into the maintenance man who was going to look into the AC. I was also surprised that they charge ten bucks for parking. The doorman was great, very helpful and went out of his way to help us with directions and getting around town. The large jacuzzi and pool were awsome and the ambience is romantic. This would have been a great review if only the room were cooler.

Very friendly and helpful staff- upgraded me to pool side room on my arrival for no extra cost- Clean spacious room - well maintained and stylish decor. I was visiting for an interview and managed to have a mini relaxing vacation without leaving the hotel- in house restaurant offers variety of options, great quality food and great staff! Hotel facilities include large outdoor pool, poolside bar, heated hot tub and mutliple loungers to relax and enjoy the sunset- plus outdoor terrace and you can eat here if you want! There is free wireless internet in the room and free printing in the business center (great for boarding passes)
Well located for Palo Alto Area - easy drive to both San Jose and San Francisco Airports and also great public transport links- bus #22 stops right outside!
All in all a wonderful stay would definitely stay again!

I loved this hotel! The room was beautiful, if you stay there you have to try their Cabana Suite. The rate was well worth it. The service was wonderful, housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping our rooms clean while we stayed there for a hospital visit. The complimentary shuttle service in the morning was a lot of help to the appointments. And the Bistro for Breakfast was to die for... I LOVED IT :)

Next time I head to Stanford for a football game, I will stay at a hotel with secure, guarded parking.
The Cabana itself is a nice enough place to stay.
Presidential Suite not so Presidential

I've attended many events at this hotel and they've all been done very well. Good food, attentive service, just an all around nice venue for events.
BUT last night I had the opportunity to stay in the Presidential Suite, which my husband's company had booked to use for an executive team meeting. Everyone needed to leave in the early afternoon, but the room was paid for so we decided to stay over, even tho we live nearby. After all, George HW, Bill, and George W had stayed there, so we expected to be treated like royalty.... not so much.
The leftovers from the morning business meeting were never cleared... yes, the cart with cold coffee, dried out danish, and dirty dishes was left in the conference room. No one ever came to check on it and when a staff member came to retrieve the conference call equipment later in the afternoon, he left the cart right where it was. Oh, and the muffin crumbs on the carpet, too.
My husband and I decided to go to dinner in downtown Palo Alto, just sure that someone would come to pick up the cart while we were out... after all, at $500/night *and* in the Presidential Suite, you'd think there'd be turndown service. Which there wasn't. So we wheeled the cart out ourselves and left it in the hallway where it remained all night.
I do have to give props for the very comfy bed and the lovely soft bed linens.... but I still missed the turndown service. And then at about 5:00 a.m. there were very loud clanking, banging and whirring noises coming from I'm not exactly sure where-- maybe a service elevator at the end of the hall? And loud door slamming in the hallway. I shudder to think that Bill and the Georges suffered through that!
We got up at 6:30 after being unable to sleep through the noise and were ready to leave by about 8:00. We passed the dirty cart on the way to the elevator.
I was really underwhelmed by the experience. Sad really....
