The location of this hotel isn't too far off the path and is conveniently located on the corner of Nellis and Las Vegas Blvd. I15 is under construction and can be a nightmare so we found it faster to take LVB to the strip rather than the freeway. The hotel is right next to a Super Walmart, which was nice for quick snack grabs and that "Oh, I guess you didn't pack my deoderant" and other incidentals. It isn't located in the nicest area of Vegas. I felt perfectly safe on the first floor and didn't feel in the least bit threatened. I didn't see any of that on or around La Quinta property and had a very nice time our entire visit. The staff was great, always on top of things. We did make the mistake of putting out the "do not disturb" sign with they really do take seriously, and even though it was removed by 8 am, our room was not cleaned that day. The front desk did have fresh towels brought to us though when we asked. The breakfast was standard with waffles. The only negative is that the front desk replaced our room keys, no questions asked, didn't even ask for ID. All in all we had a lovely stay and will gladly be back!

This hotel was a typical La Quinta: clean rooms; very comfy beds; great friendly and helpful desk staff; good cont. breakfast; nice indoor pool/spa area. The iron, hair dryer, TV, remote, A/C all worked great.
Unexpected: The Wal-Mart SuperCenter that was open 24/7 right behind it. The staff initially wanted to give me a 1st-floor room, but I requested something higher up after watching the crackheads in the parking lot eyeing my handbag on my way in. There are bums and other assorted people(specifically lots of people waving their arms and talking loudly to themselves or some invisible person) hanging around, wandering the sidewalks in the area with shopping carts full of junk, and accosting people (like me) in our rental cars at the stoplights for money.
If you're a woman (or even a man!) traveling alone, this is probably not the place you want. Try one of the other many LaQ's in Vegas. If you're with a family or other people, and are just going to crash there, eat the continental breakfast, and go to the strip, it's probably fine. The hotel doors are locked after a certain time (10pm?), and the clerk will unlock them for you if you return late, so the hotel itself is safe.
You definitely need a rental car. This place is FAR northeast Vegas.

Thats right. There were actually 3-4 shopping carts full of belongings of their owners who were snoring fast asleep right there on the sidewalk behind this hotel still gripping their half empty container of their favorite beverage of malt liquor. If this doesnt give you a good idea of what kind of neighborhood this is, I suggest you do a close inspection with google street view before you waste your time booking at this place.

I needed a room so I could take my girlfriend on a birthday weekend trip...Searching the web we found La Quinta Inn Nellis...Upon reading past reviews we made reservations...Off I-15 onto Craig Road and drove right there...Arrived just after midnight, rang the buzzer and was greeted right away...Provided my license and credit cards and after a few questions was in my room...10 minutes tops...Room was very nice...Bed looked great with lots of pillows...Room was clean and updated...Microwave, Fridge, TV, Internet connection, WiFi for my phone...We were very impressed...The staff was friendly and everything just looked great...Oh yeah the food!!!...Very nice spread for breakfast, even make your own waffles...In closing, I met the General Manager, she was at the desk, and told her how pleased we were and she thanked me...Go stay at a Casino where you are a room number, I stay at La Quinta Nellis, cause I'm a friend, were family...Thanks!!!!!!!
