2 Star Hotel - way overated at anything else

Everything is small, narrow, or insufficiently stocked. Younger staff members curtesy and prompt. Perfect for the solo college student okay with a dorm room.

Wonderful Experience

This was a great deal for the city and wonderful hotel. The staff was very courteous and polite. The location was pleasant and prime for walking to Chinatown or for a little longer stroll, to the Wharf. Like other reviews the room was small, but not unbearable. It was a practical setup and the space was used with great efficency. This is an ideal hotel for couples and business. It tries to accomondate the customer. If I return to San Fran, I will be staying at this hotel. Oh by the way...if you rent a car be prepared to spend a lot on parking ($30.00 a day). Try the local transportation..i.e. bus, BART, trolley, taxi, even walking. This hotel was a little more than a mile to the Wharf and about two blocks to Chinatown. Everything else may require a bus. Me and the spouse like to take local transportation in most big cities...although we did get a car for the Wine country.

great choice

Small room, but very clean, quiet, everything was new. Nice thick towels, not old and ragged. Staff was very helpful with any direction or transportation inquiries. Very safe neighborhood and an easy walk to public transportation, trolleys, ferry building and the bay. Avoid having a car as parking rate is the same rate as your rental car for the day!

For a place to stay that is close to everything in the city, this is great. No fancy stuff, but with most of the necessities, like computers where you can print your airline boarding pass for free... and water bottles! Perfect!

Fabulous Location!!!

My husband chose this hotel because of the location-he ran the SF Marathon and wanted a place close to the start of the race. We arrived early, and thought we would have to leave our bags and explore the city until 3pm check-in time, but X was able to check us in immediately. We asked for a fridge for my husband's medication, but none were available, we were told to check back. Later, Y was extremely helpful in relocating us to a room with a refrgerator, and even gave us a complimentary breakfast for the trouble. The hotel room was extremely clean, and so convenient to everything--tons of restaurants, Starbucks, etc... It's in a good part of SF, so we felt safe. The complimentary bottled water was great, but they need to consider recycling receptacles for the discarded bottles--that's a lot of plastic. We would absolutely highly recommend this hotel to anytone traveling to the Bay area. Yes, the rooms may feel small, but are spotless and while you're in the city-don't spend so much time in the room! The hotel staff was top notch, we loved San Francisco, and the hotel was a big part of it!
