Cost-effective

Room was small-ish, clean & efficient with compact fridge, microwave & sink. Extra towels & supplies available at common supply room, which was fine with me. Sealed empty water bottles available at water dispenser, which was fine with me as well. Bring you own bottles if you like. Three Internet-capable computers near the lobby, and they worked. Coffee available in the lobby area, but no Continental breakfast. Fitness room was clean, small & basic -- really just some treadmills & a bike machine. We had to remind the front desk to send up a roll-away cot. We didn't ask for much other service and weren't particularly invited to. The room smelled non-smoking, although I had forgotten to specify. From other reviews, I gather that room quality varies -- we asked for a quiet room & were on the 10th floor with some views. The connected pub/restaurant has a pool table ($1/game) that we found underused on a Saturday night, which went nicely with a Bass ale. Didn't try the food, but the beverage options were just fine. This isn't a hotel that's high on opulence, services & coddling, but at something like $135 including taxes for a Saturday night, we found it cost-effective for three people to stay in SF. Since the hotel is business-oriented and located in the financial district, the neighborhood is less active on weekends than on weekdays. There's a paid parking garage a block away down one-way Clay Street. Jjust past that is a small park where you can watch the wild parrots roost at dusk. Especially on weekends, you may also find free on-street parking if you look hard enough (read the parking signs!) Within reasonable walking distance are the Ferry Building, China Town & North Beach.

Good Buy/ Nice Location

If you need to be located on Embarcadero but also want easy access to BART and the F-train which goes to Pier 39 and Alcatraz this is the place for you. There are some great restaurants located near the hotel, not inexpensive though. The standard hotel room is not very big, but it is very clean and quiet. The hotel is very secure, requiring card key to even use the elevator. There is a local bar next door, and starbucks. It's only a couple block walk to F-Line $1.50 which can take you to local landmarks. There is also easy access (2 blocks) to BART. The hotel staff is very helpful in helping you get around. I did not use the parking so I am not sure about that. I imagine it would cost around $25 or so. I flew in from Oakland which is about 30-40 minutes from hotel (by the time you use the train and the shuttle buses.

great location in newly renovated financial district, small mall across street-closed on sundays, courteous staff, safe to walk alone, cabs easy to get across the street, but scary cab getting back from cow palace. grocery store nearby to walk to. free drinking water! room service from local restaurants-good food, delivery slow if restaurant is busy. from the airport, take door to door shuttle $18 - great site seeing - on time, clean. china town only a block away. I would definately stay here again!

we loved staying at Club Quarters. The main reason was location. We did not need to rent a car. Everything in walking distance. Fantastic restaurants and lots of shopping. We had a package hotel and air and it was fantastic

Room was well organized, immaculate, and comfortable. Reliable wireless. Great setup for a vacation or for a business trip. Would definitely stay there again or a a CQ in another city. This one is a winner.
