Wonderful Hotel

Club Quarters San Fran. is a great place to stay. The staff is amazingly helpful. They gave us directions, recommendations and even a spare cell phone cord. The free water bottles are great. The restaurant in the hotel has a great staff and great food. The rooms are very clean and cozy. They are suited for the business traveler as the rooms are on the smaller size, like that of a European hotel. I stayed at this hotel for 4 days and they knew my name by the time I left. Excellent stay, excellent hotel, highly recommend it.

Way Overrated

The rooms are tiny, but that's okay with me. However, the walls are PAPER thin -- you can hear everything in the rooms next to yours. The HVAC systems is ok, but the rooms are stuffy and the window (at least in my room) didn't open. The TV is a 19 inch set from the 1970s. Would not choose this again, unless it was REALLY cheap.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Convenient location and attached restaurant and bar.

Nice Rooms in the financial district

Nice rooms, but they are very small. Location is out of the way unless you are going to the financial district, which could be an issue if you are not a walker or are nervous in the big city. The hotel has many nice features, such as the filtered bottled water that you fill yourself for free. Starbucks next door. 4-5 blocks to Muni and Bart, which can be lonely and quiet late at night or on the weekend. Not much to do in the neighborhood other than the Embarcadero Ferry building on the weekends but the farmers market there is fun. A bit expensive but it does have A/C which is lacking in many old Union Square hotels.

Overall Experience

As a single woman traveling with my teenage daughter, I felt very secure in this hotel. I liked the location because everything is at your fingertips. It served it's purpose very well for our trip, walking distance to Pier 1, the train, Union Square, and of course California St! We were able to see much more of San Fran because of the great location and ease in getting to and from the hotel.
