WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!

I'm obviously a glutten for punishment because my last trip to The Parker wasn't bad enough I had to subject myself to another round of annoyances. I was planning to check in later in the afternoon when my husband arrived. Prior to that some local friends met me in the lobby for breakfast at Norma's which although completely overpriced, does have good food. While we were waiting we ended up taking a few photos. May i mention that the hotel was completely vacant and there was not a person in sight...we were completely alone in the area!!! We weren't there 10 minutes when some person asked extremely rudely if she could help us....we said No, we're just waiting and talking. She proceeded to say that there are no photographs to be taken in the hotel at all and she is going to call the manager!!! TALK ABOUT OVER-REACTING!!!! We tried to explain that we were just taking a few shots of each other and isn't that what people do in hotels when on vacation????? SO, the manager came over and was equally as rude and proceeded to say that people pay $5000 to take photos in HIS hotel and Calvin Klein was just there and there is no way we would be allowed to shoot not even CASUAL, NON-COMMERCIAL photos or any photos at all. He claimed also that it was an issue if other guests were in the photo...we looked around confused since the place was deserted!!!!! So, we left....i never checked in and went to the Riviera instead...we didn't eat at Norma's...AND I WILL MOST DEFINITELY NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!!! AND APPARENTLY NO ONE ELSE DOES EITHER BECAUSE IT WAS SPRING BREAK & DESERTED...THIS PLACE IS SO ANNOYING AND WANNABE...DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME.

The room was dirty, old and disgusting. It was a genuine waste of money I would have gladly stayed elsewhere. The staff was rude and irritating and the hotel is far below 3 stars in my honest opinion. AVOID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

COOL DECOR - EVERYTHING ELSE WAS WHATEVER!

I had never heard of The Parker prior to us staying there...i found it on-line and was intrigued by the website and the photos of the grounds...it looked very cool! We are frequent visitors to Palm Springs and normally visit at least 2-4 times per year from L.A. Our normal spot is the Esmeralda which is a very nice resort just 30 min, in Indian Wells. I must say that the hotel looks exactly like the photos and the decor does not dissapoint one bit. When you first walk in you notice an old building small but it does fade after a while. It's super funky and to me, I loved every inch of the grounds. If Urban Outfitters designed a hotel, this would be it. The landscaping also was very cool...Unfortunately, that's where it ended for my husband and I. Let's start with the promo that got us to the hotel. We stayed on the "spa junkie" promo which is xxx for the room and a xxx voucher for the so called "spa" which we will discuss later. This was my first annoyance. After booking on-line i called the hotel to book my spa appt....I reviewed the spa menu and an 80 min. massage is $180, a 60 min. massage is xxx ...I have a xxx credit. I ordered the 80 minute "rock star" massage and was told that i can only order a 60 min. massage on the package. They said there is a 20% charge on the massages and the xxx massage would push me over my voucher limit. I offered to pay the difference and they would not budge. I could go lower and have a credit but i could not go higher and pay the difference. Why that mattered I'm not sure but talking to anyone

Very pleased

We spent four nights at this hotel and loved it. The hotel staff, from the front desk to the valet staff to the pool staff, were wonderful. The ambiance is different - sort of "hippie chic" - which seemed a bit odd at first, but we ended up enjoying the hotel and everything about it. I would definitely go back, but maybe at a time of the year when the rates are a bit lower. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

Wonderful time

I went to get away from work for a few days and had a great time. The staff was super friendly and always seemed to go the extra mile. When I checked in, they gave me a free upgrade. The only downside was that they do everything for you. From parking your car to bringing you ice. Also, the paths are dirt, so don't wear open toe shoes.
