Nice place for the price

The hotel was very nice, comfortable room, and great breakfast. I was traveling with a dog and the hotel was very dog friendly. Couldn't tell they allowed dogs, as the room was fresh smelling and very clean. The breakfast was great! They had a different hot selection each day, fresh fruit, cereal, etc.
The only downside was that the walls are thin. I could hear the guy in the room next to me, but at least he wasn't too loud.
Excellent facilities for a great price

I booked this hotel in combination with my air arrangement from Wash/National to Kansas City as a package through online travel website, and received a very good bargain (subtracting the airfare from the prepaid package price results in a hotel price of $50.25 per night for two nights! I had to be in Topeka for business, so this looked like a good location. After staying at the Ramada Downtown Topeka, I would consider this as one of the best bargain stays that I have had, and I travel a lot on business -- perhaps 50+ nights per year. For the price, the room I received was well beyond my expectations (very large double queen room in the tower with sofa, refrigerator, and microwave); the facilities were excellent and far exceeded expectations (nice airy atrium with a small gym, nicely heated pool and hot tub; the personnel were very well trained and efficient, and the amenities were outstanding (free wireless internet, free hot buffet breakfast for each day I stayed). All the basics were also covered by this Ramada -- clean everything (room, halls, common areas), and polite and helpful staff. The one thing that was a bit puzzling to me was that when I checked the same hotel for the same nights either on the Ramada website, or any other hotel booking website, the price for the same room always showed up as $85 or $86 per night plus tax, which would bring it up to nearly $100 per night.
