I was a little concerned going in because I had been asked to book at this hotel and afterwards saw the one and only review, which was a bit alarming. As I checked in, I mentioned the review and inquired about the renovated rooms. The only way to get a renovated room was to pay more money, which I did not have the authority to do. I decided to go look at the room and take it from there. The room was very nice and clean, the carpet was worn, but not to the extent that the first review led us to believe, at least not in the room I was put in. It really was very acceptable and was not in the front where it would have been loud from the traffic. The staff was extremely polite and courteous. The breakfast selection is excellent. The dinner menu is good but I did suggest at the hotel (they have their own survey card) that they provide one typical dish a day. I had to search for some of the local food as many of the restaurants I visited had foreign food. It was no big deal, but it would have been nice to have the choice. Getting a cab in the morning was very easy. At first, I booked only through the hotel because so many people caution you about safety and not going into a strange cab but I found that the metered cabs that come by the hotel in the morning are just as safe. They can be cheaper, but NOT always. So with that little bit of hindsight, you might as well book through the hotel. The cab fare is put on the hotel tab, which makes it easier. Overall, it was a good experience.

The ratings I gave are based on the second room I stayed in. When I arrived I was assigned room #623. Boy was I surprised! It was NOTHING like the photos I had seen. The carpet was so worn that you can see all the cuts they did to put the pieces together when installing it. It was also dirty. When I opened the window curtain the wall paper was coming off the wall. It had black mildew from the humidity. The beds were almost on the floor. The mini bar fridge door would not open. The next day I spoke to Stephanie at Customer Service and told her that the room I had been assigend was nothing like what I saw on the website. She said that the hotel was being remodeled. I was assgined that room because I paid a discounted rate! ($118 per nite (2 nites) & $95 per nite (2 other nites). She spoke to her Manager and the Manager approved "an upgrade" to another room. When I returned to the hotel to change rooms the attendant in turn (Pamela) was not happy about it and said that it will be done this time but in the future if I want a remodeled room I need to pay more money. When I told her that the room I was given was nothing like what's in the web page she said that the internet has alot of "garbage" and that I can't believe everything I see! She was condesending and treated me like I was asking for something I didnt deserve. I was then assigned room #823. It was the same room, but remodeled, just like the one in the web page. Avoid staying here if you can. That's what I will do in the future.
