My wife, daugher and I stayed in the Daupine in mid Aug. '08, the week before Gustav. We found it to be a very nice hotel right in the heart of the French Qtr. Easy walks to IMAX and the aquarium as well as the French Market. Breakfast should have been ample for almost any taste. You are 1 block off of Bourbon St. Parking is at a premium. Be prepared to pay extra to pay extra for that service. I will definite consider staying at the Dauphine when I return to New Orleans.

Renovations were complete and the room was clean and maid service was great. To nit pick there were no towel racks which may have been taken down for the renovations and not put back up but everything else was great especially the beds which were the best I've slept in. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful concerning directions and other local information. Absolutely loved the location. We were there for Halloween and Bourbon St.was just a block away but when our energy got low our room was quiet while people staying on Bourbon St. were talking about crowd noises until 6:00 in the morning. May Bailey's bar has a neighborhood bar feel to it and was perfect for a quiet night cap after the frenetic party atmosphere on Bourbon St. It was a very good value for the price and I look forward to staying there again.

The family enjoys the sites, food and sound of New Orleans. We found this hotel via Travelocity at an affordable price. Construction was taking place during our stay but did not interrupt our trip. Decent free breakfast in the morning. Convenient pool. Walking distance to trolley's, stores, the riverfront and shopping. On our first night we did not receive the room we reserved. When we mentioned the "view" the next morning, we were transferred without incident to another room with a view of the parking garage. The managment did not offer a discount for the wrong room or parking lot "view". The room was clean and okay for a trip without the husband, I would only stay again if visiting with the children. IF visiting with the entire family we would opt for a suite hotel. The hotel is good for couples or older tourist.
Have proof of booking when you check in

We were looking for a nice, secluded place to relax and celebrate my birthday and that's just what we got. We had the master suite, and it was amazing. Our room was in a building all to itself. Very romantic! It had everything you could want (except fridge/ microwave). There was a full sized jacuzzi and a balcony. The bed was the best a hotel could offer and it had that home away from home feel. One of the guys delivered a bottle of wine just after we unpacked. They were always on time. They spoiled us! We didn't even leave the room! If you go there, Ste 111 is the room to get!
