Boulder Station

The hotel lobby, gaming area and restaurant areas were very nice. Clean and well kept. The room was clean but definitely could use some maintenance. The carpet was old, the thermostat didn't work and the showerhead made it nearly impossible to take a shower. Customer service at the hotel was very good. The employees were pretty friendly. The biggest issue I have with this hotel is the "mandatory resort fee" payable directly to the hotel upon checkout. Just exactly what did my $12.99 plus tax get me over and above the room cost. As I see it, this is just a deceitful way of charging more for the room.

Extra charges

The hotel charges $14.95 in addition to the quoted rate for extra ammenities such as internet access, local telephone, and pool use. Problem is that I didn't use any of these but still had to pay. The charge is pure profit for the hotel and takes the facility out of the running for a reasonable room rate. Think twice about staying at a property that is considering bankruptcy. Room and facilities were good quality. I just didn't like getting blindsided by the extra fee.

Spent one night here. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable bed. Internet Service was $9.95 per day where most motels offer this as a free service, at least the 5 we stayed at on this most recent trip through Utah. The casino is very nice, food was good and reasonable. They dinged us $5.00 to pay for extra services which we didn't use.....guess they saw an excellent chance to make lots of bucks with the energy surcharge a few years ago and now found another excuse to continue the practice.
