Description: This was our fourth trip to Key West, and our first time staying at the Island City House Hotel. Everything was perfect! The hotel is comprised of three properties: the Island City House, the Cigar House, and the Arch House. We stayed on the 2nd floor of the Island City House and had view of the pool from the balcony. The rooms are very spacious and have everything you need, including a full-size refrigerator which comes in very handy for cooling beverages! If you stay at the Island City House, be sure to ask for a room with a private porch. The Cigar House overlooks the pool, and you can rest in your own personal hammock!
Each morning we were treated to coffee, juice, bagels, yogurt, fruit, etc. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They are able to arrange trips (recommend snorkel trip with Floridays) and provide recommendations on restaurants and other businesses. Plus the hotel has on-site bicycle rentals. Riding a bike is a great way to see Key West. Be sure to ride your bike over to B.O's for his famous hot dogs! We enjoyed ours by the pool. You can also cook your catch of the day on the grills that are provided.
The location is central to everything; just blocks from Duval and very close to the Wharf. Be sure to stop by some of our favorites: Schooner's Wharf, Sloppy Joes, Seven Fish, and Camilles for breakfast. Camilles has the best omelet on the Island--full of crab meat, asparagus and cheese!
We enjoyed our vacation at the Island City House Hotel; we'll definitely be back!
