A Beall Treat

My wife and I spent one night at the Beall Mansion in February and loved every minute of it. We stayed in the Marry Harris room and enjoyed the super soft feather duvet in the romantic 4-poster canopied bed. The private whirlpool was a huge pleasure after a night out for an elegant dinner. Alton seems like a sleepy town on the weekends (at least this time of year) but that was exactly what we wanted: to step back in time and SLOW down without any crowds or distractions. We enjoyed a nice glass of sparkling wine (not Champagne, as they called it; it was far too sweet) and had the couples-massage soon after. Having massages in tandem was pure bliss, especially as we were able to both slip into bed soon afterwards and not have to get into the car and drive anywhere. Our hosts were very hospitable and offered interesting history of the house. The breakfast in bed, (Tortuga rum french toast...mmmmm!) cooked and brought in by the husband and wife team made a perfect conclusion to our deep, contented sleep the night before.
