Loved this place!

We stayed here for a week in a one bedroom unit. The condo was nicely decorated and roomy. It was quiet and relaxing. It does not have many ammenities on site, however (although Internet access was available). The driving time spent when we made multiple trips into Sedona and back got a little old. But nearby is a fantastic pizza place, a gym, shops, and great hiking. We did get the initial time share "talk", we declined and were not bothered after that. We did not want to leave once we got here.

We had a very spacious apartment. King size bed, big jacuzzi tub and queen size sleeper sofa. There was a fully equipped kitchen and a covered patio with chairs and a small table. Connected was a lock-off studio that was also very roomy. It had a queen size bed I think, a very large bathroom with a shower and a big vanity. There was also a kitchenette with a more than adequate refrigerator, a convection oven, small counter top, a sink, more utensils than we needed and a table for four. The lock-off also had a covered patio with chairs. Did I mention plenty of closet space and a safe in each bedroom?

The view wasn't good at all but believe me when I say the amount of time we actually spent at the apartment was so minimal, the view didn't matter. We're outdoor people and we liked it a lot. The resort itself has like three pools and four or more spas. It was fantastic to go in the spa at night and soothe our muscles from the hiking and climbing we did during the day.

Beware the sales pitch!

"When you check in, your arm will be persuaded to take the "tour". The tour is basically a way to get you to the "point of sale" for buying a timeshare, During the sales presentation if you say you are not interested they will trot out another person to pressure you to buy. To be fair, the rooms and the property is nice. But, the place exists only to sell timeshares which can not ever be sold for anwhere near what you paid."

Best Things Nearby:
the red rock, the Grand Canyon, shopping, the views

Best Things About the Resort:
The views from the resort were spectacular. It was close to downtown Sedona, about 1 hour from the Grand Canyon.

Resort Experience:
We loved this resort. It was clean and well furnished. We had a lock-off unit--one side had a master bedroom, living room with a pull-out couch, master bathroom with jacuzzi tub (which the kids loved!), and a full kitchen and dining area. The other side was a lock-off unit that was so big that we could have invited another family to come with us. The kids had their own apartment on the lock-off side, which they absolutely loved.

The resort staff was very helpful with helping us to book excursions. We took a raft ride down the Colorado River that was unbelievable, we went four-wheeling in the red rocks, and we went to the south side of the Grand Canyon.

Sedona Summit

Best Things Nearby:
Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, Indian pueblo ruins, 4x4 backcountry jeep rides, old mining town (Jerome), beautiful drives through the towering trees and red rocks, and great hiking trails.

Best Things About the Resort:
Spacious, comfortable rooms; pools and hot tubs; centrally located for day trips to all but Grand Canyon, which is a 4-hour drive each way. At the end of our week, we added an extra day to see the Canyon.

Resort Experience:
Sedona Summit is lovely. It's located on the west end of town (the quiet side), but within a 10-minute drive to the center of town for tours and shopping. Our one-bedroom unit was spacious, with a roomy kitchen/dining area; a large living room with TV, DVD player, and a comfortable queen-size sofa bed; a jetted tub and shower stall with a long two-sink vanity in the bathroom; and a king-size bed in the bedroom with a second TV. The unit was very comfortable with four adults in it. The activities center looked interesting for the children, with pottery, dream catcher, and colored sand crafts. For souvenirs, a local businessman sells Indian silver/turqoise jewelry and pottery once a week.
