Comfy Beds, Pricey Parking

The hotel was excellent for what we needed it for which is to sleep. We spent most of our time seeing L.A and the surrounding area.. We had adjoining rooms with double beds. they were not the largest rooms but we were only there to sleep. The beds were the most comfortable hotel beds we've ever stayed in. This includes resorts in Waikiki and Las Vegas. The MAJOR DRAWBACK is the hotel only offers valet parking which was around $40 a day. I would much rather park myself and walk then spend $40 to park overnight. Also one of our rooms was not ready at the time we checked in. This would have been a inconvience if were wernt just dropping our bags off at the time. Overall our stay was good but it is not worth the standard price unless you plan on using some of the Hotel facilities.

Not 4 stars

The shops were never open. The pool was small and dirty, and not heated. Our room was TINY! and obviously substandard to the rooms which paid the full rate (ones not booked at the travel agency discount), there were spots of paint which were left uncorrected, room service is extremely expensive and not worth the price.

It's okay, good eating places.

Hotel rooms are overall just so-so. Rooms are small. First one was dirty, asked to be moved. Second room smaller, but a little cleaner. Not what I expected for a Westin. Safes were broken in both rooms and was told it would be fixed in the second - no one ever showed up. There are numerous places to eat on the 3-5th floors which were good and priced reasonably. Didn't use it, but the fitness facility looked good - large with lot of machines and a walk/jog track around the center of one of the floors. Given the price that was offered (part of a group rate), it was okay deal.

Excellent Hotel

The room was great, concierge service was excellent in assisting me in getting transportation to the airport. The fees charged by the Business Center to send a fax were exhorbitant. The revolving lounge/restaurant on the 35th floor was really nice.

Indifferent

My husband and I went to L.A. to visit some family, see LA, and go to a USC game. The hotel served its purpose of a place to sleep at night, but thats where it ended. The staff was not helpful and sometimes rude. The restaurants were incredibly overpriced for the taste of food and service. The Bonaventure Brewing Company was the only decent meal we had in the hotel and it is not a hotel owned restaurant. Parking overnight is $35, but for during the day there are other reasonable decks around the hotel. The rooms are badly in need of renovation and are small by U.S. standards, however if you don't plan on being in your room a lot they serve their purpose. The bathrooms are also small and have little counter space after all of the items from the hotel (small coffee pot, tray with toiletries, etc.)
