Description: Recently converted from a Ritz Carlton, the Fairmont is a fine alternative to continue the tradition of extravagance in hotel stays. Located in the Country Club Plaza section of the city and easily accessible from the interstates that run through the city, you''ll find a fabulous old hotel that has been on this site for 50 years. The richly decorated lobby includes a lounge and gorgeous artwork and furnishings. When you reach your room, you''ll find a personal patio/deck and a nicely equipped hotel room. Complete with two desks, three telephones and a marble bathroom with scales and a shaving/makeup mirror you''ll feel pampered. Slip into a heavy terry cloth bathrobe that you''ll find hanging in your closet and relax with a treat from the mini bar or from room service or simply enjoy the view from your room of downtown. Surprisingly reasonably priced for what you''ll find, the Fairmont is reasonably affordable at $125 or so a night and parking is free in their adjoining deck. On your next visit to Kansas City, let me highly recommend the Fairmont for a luxurious stay in the city.
