Great Ski IN- SKI OUT

  • Rated 5 of 5 by a traveler from Travelocity.com
Based on friends recommendations we went to Park City/ The Canyons the first time 2 years ago and LOVED it ! Easy access ( max 30-40 min from SLC airport, freeway), Park City with galleries and an enormous amount of great quality dining. GRAND SUMMIT /Canyons `~step out the door and right into the gondola ! Book yr bedroom suite through the owner directly ~ We have been so happy with our stay ever since enjoying the child care and ski school facility right in the building ( traveling w/ a 4 and 10 yr old resp), ski locker service when you walk out the door, garage parking, daily maid service - and everything in a condo / suite with the hotel facilities like pool, library, Spa,Sauna etc Will be back again - maybe for mounatinbiking this summer / fall ?

Great amenities

Grand Summit Hotel - The Canyons

Best Things Nearby:
Skiing... and that's it!

Best Things About the Resort:
It's right on the mountain - ski in and ski out! There is a fantastic heated outdoor pool and hot tub!!! There are great restaurants and a bar on site!

Resort Experience:
It's a very beautiful resort in a perfect ski setting! The Canyons sit about 3 miles outside of downtown Park City, but if you want to ski, this is it. This resort is certainly worthy of its Gold Crown status. It is a full-service ski resort, with a great locker room for your ski equipment, or if you want, you can just hull your stuff up to your room! Very cool! They have room service, a weight room, spas, hot tubs… everything!

The units are a little sub par considering. The TV was just a plain ol’ tube - no DVD player, just a VCR, and there was no stereo, just a junky little CD/alarm/clock thing. Maid service asked me like six times one day if I needed cleaning! That was sort of annoying, but other than these little picky things, this was a great vacation!

  • Unit Type: Studio
  • Activities: Excellent
  • Amenities: Excellent
  • Unit Satisfaction: Good
  • Family Friendliness: Very Good
  • Service: Excellent

Grand Summit Resort- The Canyons

Grand Summit Resort- The Canyons

We stayed in Unit 515/17/9, which accompanied 8/6 people. This unit was actually three lockouts, which combined into a 2 Bedroom Parlor Deluxe suite. Unit 515 had the two double beds with a regular full sized bathroom. Unit 517 (main unit) had a full kitchen, dining room, living room with a queen sleeper sofa, gas fireplace and a regular full sized bathroom. Unit 519 had a king size bed, gas fireplace, balcony, 2 person whirlpool tub and a stand-alone shower.

Grand Summit-The Canyons provided a woodsy theme décor, which was perfectly suitable because of their surroundings. All of their rooms were equipped with 27" color televisions, dual phone lines with fax/modem and voice mail. The living room had a VCR and each bedroom had a portable CD player. The kitchen was well equipped with GE appliances and Corian countertops were used throughout the units. Grand Summit units were elegant, yet comfortable. Did I forget to mention roomy?

In each of these units came with two wonderful terry cloth robes (six total) that were put to good use. Would you believe in each of the bathrooms were a 4-cup coffee maker, with two packages of Starbucks coffee (one regular/one decaf), two coffee cups, sugar/cream/stir packets? You will also find shampoo, conditioner, vanilla soap, peach cleansing bar, and a blow dryer in each of the bathrooms.

The most impressive part of our stay with the Grand Summit-The Canyons was the Housekeeping Staff. They have excelled in their services. They came each and every single day to make up the bed(s), put away the clean dishes stored in the dishwasher, filled up kitchen and bathroom supplies, take away the soiled towels (and robes) and replaced them with clean ones. On the third day of our visit, they changed out the sheets on the beds. Needless to say, we felt honored in leaving them a nice sized tip. They have spoiled us wonderfully and the tip was well deserved.

If being pampered is what you are seeking, then look no further, because the Grand Summit Resort (especially the staff) will do just that.

Leadville Hostel

I highly recommend this hostel!

The owners are extremely friendly, and you truly feel like you have come home. You have access to a large kitchen, dining room and living room, and the bunk rooms are spacious. Bring a lock to use the built-in lockers in each bunkroom. While this place is hand-me-down rather than high-style, it's well worth the $18 per night ($20 in August). I met an assortment of great people and wish I had longer to stay!

It felt like I had come home. leadvillehostel.com
