Would Not Stay In Again

The rooms were very comfortable but they charge extra for everything a budget hotel would offer free, ie internet, music on T.V, parking, etc.

The waterfall was beautiful but attracts a lot of people that just come in to swim in it and they are allowed to do that by the hotel! One night we wanted to walk along the river but were too scared because there were a lot of people that made you feel uncomfortable swimming in the fountain. (You have to walk by it to get down to the river.)

Breakfast was $15.00 per person.

If you have the money for all that and are not afraid of people that are allowed to just walk off the street to hang out in the front of the hotel to play in the fountain then go for it.

We stay at the Wichita Hyatt 5-6 times a year and they make us feel like it is our second home. From the night manager to the bellmen you will find nothing but the best. Front desk attendants exemplifies customer service and could not be any better. She is great at anticipating your needs and if you have a problem, she gets it solved and if she can't, can. The other desk attendants are great as well. They go out of their way and handle a busy line of customers beautifully. They were kind enough to help us with printing our boarding passes and was very pleasant about it although it held her up from leaving. She gave no indication of anything but kindness and attending to finishing our flight information. the night attendant and I have seen her handle crowds of people (they have weddings and conferences there occasionally) with grace, patience and expert knowledge. She has gone out of her way several times for us and even on one occasion locating a refrigerator for us at 4 in the morning for my son's medicine. The kindness and attentiveness reflects on his people and it is just a really nice place to stay.

Bait and switch, dirty glasses and shower

Our offer stated the room came with free internet and free parking. Seems like those should be included but, when we arrived we found out they weren't even included in our "special offer", let alone for everyone. We were expected to pay $10 a day for internet. You would think services that are offered for free in budget motels would be free in a Hyatt, but apparently not. What's worse is that due to the location, you don't really have a choice about the parking. There is no where else to park but, at the hotel garage. When we inquired about the apprant bait and switch regarding the internet, we were told they would look into it and call us right back. Never happened. We also noted there were dirty glasses (with rings) and the shower was dirty with spots. It's not that spots are a problem but, how do you clean a shower and leave spots? We can only assume that it never was cleaned from the prior guest. The breakfast buffet was a little over priced at $15, especially considering the far was pretty standard eggs, bacon, etc. It tasted very average. When we went to check out and voice our concerns about all of this, we were informed that we also had a FIFTEEN dollar charge for listening to the music on the T.V. While listening, it said it was a free trial for 5 minutes and there was a timer counting down the 5 minutes. Well at the end of the 5 minutes, it just charges you. No warning, no posted price, nothing. A total GOTCHA! charge. In the end they waived all the extra fees and we only had to pay for the room. But I will never go back.

Fairly Happy

Hotel was very nice, clean and the staff was pleasant. When I book the room I specified non smoking and ended up having to take a smoking room because apparently there were no non smoking rooms available. Wasn't happy with the explanation. Room service meals were very small for the price.
