hotel was renovating, we were stuck in a room in the back of the hotel that had about 7 rooms being renovated beside it. we had to walk past the rooms to get to ours, the doors were open, beds were propped against the walls, holes in ceilings, very unpleasant sight. there was no lighting at our end of the walkway at night. the light above the t.v. didn't work, there was hair in the bathtub, a hole in the floor by the toilet, the baseboard in the bathroom had staples holding it up. oh, and the elevator was gross too. it looked nasty and smelled like an ashtray.

The 3rd floor of the hotel (we were on the 2nd) was being totally renevated, so at 7:00 in the morning we got to hear the workers and the dump trucks and all the loud noises that come with the renevation. The rooms had an odor to them. The room was relatively clean, but it was still an old hotel that needs a complete overhaul. On a scale of 0-5 (5 being best), I would give this hotel a 2.

Where was the Roaming Gnome to tell me about the construction? The workers equipment woke us up at 7:30 AM on Sunday!!
If this is a 2 star hotel, then I guess the only difference between 2 star and 1 star is that we had a coffee pot, soap, and shampoo?
The phone and remote were filthy.
All I can say good about the room is that it wasn't so bad that I didn't say, "we can't stay here"
The staff was friendly, and offered discounts to various attractions. We went to the alligator farm, mid america museum, and Rod's Pizza. ALL GREAT. BUT, we will NEVER EVER EVER even consider staying at the Howard Johnson's again.

I reserved two rooms for two nights and wouldn't even stay on this property. I actually lost all my money and stayed at another hotel. I actually called to complain make other arrangements and did nothing. Extremely unhappy with the situation. After 3 phone calls and three supervisors were spoken to all that I can do is file a written complaint. This property was under construction which they denied to Travelocity but the construction company had a sign on the front wall. Workers were standing outside of the window and the room wreaked. As you can tell I am not happy.
