Our quick getaway in Tahoe

Having never booked a trip to Tahoe but wanting a romantic getaway, I chose Resort at Squaw Valley. I had never been there, but got a great impression from the online description and pictures. This resport is set in an amazing area with both a scenic drive and view. Once there we were very impressed with both the look of the resort and desk area, as well as our room (deluxe suite with fireplace - I definitely reccomend the valley view). The room was pricey, but if you are looking for a romantic getaway, it is well worth it. We got checked in and settled and then headed down to Sandys Pub for some food. The service and setting were great - good food, shuffleboard and billiards, as well as a live band. After some drinks and fun, it was out to the hot tubs for some nice soaking. The robes they provide are so very warm and comfortable, and the pool area clean and comfortable. Next it was a romantic meal at Six Peaks Grill. The atmosphere was amazing, the food and wine amazing, and the customer service second to none - manager assisted with wine selection, friendly wait staff. We topped the evening off with conversation by the fire pit, which is essential of any romantic evening. The most impressive part of the trip was when the night manager opened the deli store for me and my fiancee at 11:30pm so we could get snacks. The customer service we received at this resort is better than any I have received in any other trip I have taken in years. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND YOU EXPERIENCE THIS RESORT!!!! I can only imagine how amazing it would be during the winter season!

Absolutely PHENOMENAL Experience!!!!

If you want a vacation that does it all for you then you HAVE to stay here. First, the reservations staff is tremendous. Did you know this property is listed in the book: 1000 places to see before you die? The list isn't kidding--you have to come here, for the view from the rooms alone. A reservations staff said he would call me back and after verifying that the book didn't list a specific room type (this is what I was worried about--I wanted the best the hotel offered!), he called me back to let me know about this. He actually read the book for me (I can't actually find my own copy...). Anyway, the beds are REALLY soft, like a billion pillow tops comforting you--but I prefer a rock solid bed. There are a bunch of pillows so you can really find something that's comfortable and you'd sleep all day--BUT there are amazing things to do (the pool and hot tub, the spa, the fun restaurants, the ice skating, and did I mention skiing and boarding???) here, so you simply can't sleep in all day even if you want to. If you're doing outside activities, you want to get a fireplace room so that your stuff can warm up/dry off before you go back out again. The bathrooms are enormous and the tubs are fantastic. I want to renovate my own bathroom to look just like it. Everyone was so nice, and courteous and it just really made for a GREAT vacation...will we be back...you can bet on it just over the border!!!!

The entire hotel was beyond our expectations! We had a deluxe fireplace suite which was huge, it had everything! The chairlift was 50 yards from the hotel rooms. Sandy's Pub was a great place to hang for drinks and had great food.
