GREAT LOCATION!

Stayed at the RIDGE PALZA, a wonderful newer Hotel. Room was very large with a full kitchen, hot tub on roof one floor up with amazing views of Nevada and Tahoe. Staff friendly: I checked in after the office was closed and it took only a phone call to security to be directed to the booth for a 3 minute check in. Parking garage below the rooms never had to put on boots. Some of the property is older but the Plaza and the Tower are high end Time share type rooms. The Stage coach Lift is only a staircase away.

Nice Resort, close to Heavenly lift

I stayed here early March and give it a 88% I was pleased with my stay here. The suite was large enough to accommodate six adults and was walking distance to a lift at Heavenly mountain. It had nice size TV's, one 50" DLP and a smaller LCD and a stereo system. A free shuttle bus also ran to heavenly as well as south Lake Tahoe. Our condo had two hot tubs on the top floor, one over looking Lake Tahoe, the other Carson City. To address other reviews, the pull out bed felt like a pull out bed, no better or worse than any others I've slept on. The other two beds were king size sleep number beds, which were better than my bed at home. Covered parking spots did tend to fill late in the evening but we never had a huge problem finding an open one. Shampoo, conditioner and coffee were not provided but as a twenty something male I can go a few days without shampoo and bought good coffee grounds in town. I never noticed the staff being rude, but the only one I had very much contact with was the bartender. The bus drivers were very friendly, especially since they had to deal with drunk.

Never stay there again

Staff was very unfriendly. Sofa bed was so worn out my kids could not even sleep on it. We arrived during a snow storm right at dinner time and was told we could not eat at the only restraurant because we needed reservations. We were suppose to have covered parking but all spaces were full by other patrons not staying at hotel. Notified front desk about it and did not receive any help. Had to find our own parking. We had reservations for 5 days but moved the very next day to the Embassy Suites. Excellent hotel with great staff. Would definitely stay at Embassy Suites again.

The Ridge Tahoe

This place was okay. I was a little disappointed in that they didn't have any shampoo/conditioner or single coffees in the room (called front desk, said they don't offer that). I guess when I pay so much for a room I expect the little stuff. The bed was absolutely horrible, my wife and I didn't sleep well at all. I was also disappointed that we went in the off-season and there was virtually no one there, yet I got a room with a view of the shuffle board courts. All in all this is an okay place that was clean, but i expect more out of a hotel with the price I paid. Probably will look elsewhere next time in the South Tahoe area.

Very Nice Resort -- 8.5 out of 10

We traded a time-share week to come visit Lake Tahoe in late September and choose The Ridge Tahoe. A little out of the way comfortably secluded resort nestled up in the mountains directly overlooking downtown South Lake Tahoe. You will not be seeing the lake from this resort perch but be sure to ask for a 'room w/ a view' if you can. During off season they should easily accomodate your request / who knows during ski season! The rooms are quite cozy for above average time-share needs. Clean and amply stocked w/ most modern day ammenities. The staff was very pleasant plus always accomodating to our needs. Only minor issue was the hike guide/rock climbing instructor who at times can come off a little brash (he point blank suggested to all the hikers to 'just go hike on your own' as if we were a bother to him and knew the mountains). Every activity was free + you can go use the hot springs spa ressort as complimentary guest located over the back side of the mountain! The restaurant was quite nice and upscale - my entree selection being well prepared and perfect. Shuttle busses were very comvenient to the town and back for free! If you have never been here before like me you should be pleasantly surprised and satisfied with your choice! Enjoy
