Place is not up to what I thought your standards are. Place not one I would send anyone to. Smoke so thick when we walked in it burned our eyes, no food. Went to another place to eat. 1st rm had 1 dim light bulb in lamp , rm smelt bad of smoke. Asked for light bulb, maintance man not there so gave us another room. 2nd rm not clean, dried stuff on night stand, toilet seat was dirty had to clean before using, dusty, smoke not as bad. General apperance of place not good. See why no picture of it. Got a question don't you send anybody to check the places?
Gold Spike is not what it used to be

I have stayed at the Gold Spike for 3 years in a row. The first year, I didn't mind the accomodations for the price. The rooms are not that great. (The television reception is absolutely horrible (if you are like me and broke most of the time, you would like to go back and watch tv), I learned after the 1st year to bring my playstation 2 to watch movies or play games because of the tv reception.) I stayed for 10 days for $*. Plus, the location is perfect. The 2nd year, I stayed for 10 days for around $*. This year, I stayed for 10 days and it cost me over $*. The price went up, however, the quality did not. I do not understand why they went up so much, and the quality didn't change a bit. I could understand if the accomodations got better, but, they did not. I refuse to stay here again.
Just ok.

Just ok. for the price.Affordable price for saturday night. Considering 3 times more expensive on any other hotel on saturdays in Las Vegas.Convenient location for being so close to downtown.Economic hotel.

Wouldn't go back. Front desk service was interesting to say the least. I really would have liked a TV WITH a remote and more than 4 channels. Suggest using spell check on professional papers, didnt know Roast Beef Of Ham existed. Bath Tub flooded while showering. Windows were VERY unsafe. General area and people unsetteling with people talking to trees outside.
SLICE OF LIFE

To stay at he GOLD SPIKE is definitely to experience a different "slice of life" which is to say that its patrons include everything from true lowlife scumbags to the Mayor of Las Vegas himself. Rooms are O.K. for the price, Fremont Street and downtown a short walk, but do not eat at the SPIKE.
