This place is bigger than the type of place we usually like to stay. That said, it was beautiful, great service, gorgeous rooms, great property overall. We bought a package that included breakfast at the Duck Club. Yummy - crab cakes while watching otters frolic. Good stuff. Would probably stay at a smaller, more intimate place in Pacific Grove if we returned.

cheap and flimsy

" I stayed here in the Cannery Row view rooms, and they were cheap, flimsy and noisy. Location is great, but very overpriced and loud for Holiday Inn-quality. Splurge for water view or stay somewhere else."
Complete disappointment

Upon check in, they gave us the wrong room number, so we spent 10 minuets trying to get into the Wrong Room! Finally got to the correct room, it was not an ocean view as we paid for, it faced a public deck area which allowed no privacy and was noisy. We requested a room change, and it took them 5 hours. When we came back from the spa, the keycard didn't work again! Waited 20 minuets, had to call twice to have someone come help us. The new room, turns out, was 100 sqf smaller than the old one! However the spa staff were absolutely wonderful and the treatments were amazing.

This is a great hotel, in a great location. Service was excellent. When a problem developed with thew plumbing it was fixed immediately.Can't think of a bad thing during long weekend.
Romantic Upscale Hotel on the Ocean

Great location built up on stilts on top of the water. Ocean front 5-star restaurant and bistro. Our 5 year wedding anniversary. Large rooms, nicely decorated. We used local company Romantic Room Designs to decorate room with extra romantic flair (rose petals, candles, gift items etc..). Drinks and dinner at the Sardine Factory. Excellent stay.
