Great Hotel but...

Beautiful Room. Bed was wonderful!
Arrived at 9:30pm and our Room wasn't ready. Hotel made up for it by giving us $100 toward
food at the hotel. We were grateful after finding out how expensive the Resturantes were.
The Shower ,though beautiful , ran hot then cold. Sofa was not very comfortable.
Loved the TV in the bathroom.
Thought it would be easier staying at the hotel where the product show was being held but the business centers and the shuttles are a long walk from the hotel itself.

Get your wallet out

First of all get your wallet out and keep it out as everything here is expensive. Ate at 6 of the restaurants here. Never got out of them for less than $50 (2 entree's), even breakfast. Most of the time the food was nothing special. We stay at resorts often, its one thing to pay for something and have it be an incredible meal, its another to pay so much for something so-so. Need something a little more family friendly and not so incredibly overpriced. (The Red White and Blue cafe does not qualify as family friendly to me, unless you think a $15 mediocre salad is a bargain). Also some seating somewhere for those of us traveling with people who are not 21 would be appreciated! We had to wait over 2 hours for our room upon arrival and there is nowhere to sit, unless you are gambling $$or eating in their overpriced $$ restaurants. We must have walked miles. Another irritation is though their wave pool was open is was not heated (maybe 50 degrees in March), you would think for the money you spend on their rooms and restaurants they could afford to heat the pool! That said the bed in our room was wonderful and the room attractive, the view down the strip was extremely scenic. The property is beautiful, just longing a little for the good old days when you could get a great meal and nice place to lay your head for under $100 in Lost Wages.

Daughter's wedding weekend

First of all, the hotel smelled WONDERFUL!! It seemed to be a combination of flowers and coconut - very tropical smelling, and it permeated the building, but not overwhelming - it's been on our minds ever since we got back! The front desk receptionist was very pleasant and even gave us a better "view" room than we were originally slated for. The hotel itself is beautiful, very clean, and everyone from the wait staff in the restaurants to the gentleman polishing the marble on our floor are FABULOUS - so nice, courteous, and very customer oriented. The casino was very nice - brightly lit (unlike some of the other hotel casinos we visited that were dark & dingy) and clean. It was the first time we had been to Vegas, and when we go back, there will be no other place to stay - we really didn't know what to expect, and the Mandalay just blew us away!
P.S. We'd love to know HOW they get that wonderful SMELL!! :):):)

Check-in took a little longer than I like but the room, casino and dining were all excellent. We would stay again.

My only issue was being turned away from the spa due to a wait list for a locker after being charged.
